Simoya Nature Park

Madhu and Sanji were the nicest hosts, welcoming me with a fruit juice after the long flight and helping me arrange the following day (Minneriya Safari with a great driver/guide !). The room was the nicest I've had so far in Sri Lanka, air conditioning and beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was also great - served on the terrace overlooking the lush garden.

Super location on the owner's property set in a lush, tropical garden. Just a 5-10 minute stroll from Dambula Cave/Temple. The hosts, Sanjiy and Madu, were beyond helpful - we arrived early and they arranged for us to sleep at a neighbouring house for a few hours for a very small charge. They also arranged the airport pickup and a driver (hi Sanu!) to take us to Kandy for a very reasonable price. The breakfast was huge! So much fresh fruit. We ate it on the balcony while enjoying the jungly garden. The room was spacious, well-equipped (including a fridge) and tastefully furnished. Large, comfy bed/pillows. The location was fairly quiet and was the only place in Sri Lanka where we didn't hear barking dogs!

A couple of things could be improved: The adjoining wall with the other guest room could be better soundproofed - we could hear the other guests talking in their room and it might have been annoying if we were staying for longer. There were issues with the shower as the water was only lukewarm.

A very cozy family hotel. Madhu cleaned the room very clean and prepared a delicious vegetarian dinner for me. If you go to see it, you must stay here

Madhu and Sanjee - so friendly and warm. The room is quite thought out and super comfortable.

My partner and I received exceptional personal service from Sanjay and his wife Madhu who own Simoya, with nothing too much trouble. Breakfast on the balcony that overlooks the jungle with its monkeys, squirrels and other wildlife was a fantastic experience, with the traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts that the couple served us each morning absolutely delicious. Sanjay even made some phone calls to find out where I could get a spare part for my rental car. It was a great relaxing and refreshing stay!

Nothing for the price. Simoya is currently undergoing upgrades, with a bathing area to be installed - my wife and I look forward to returning soon to experience the new facilities!

We stayed in 8 different hotels and homestays during our trip and this one was the best by far. The couple managing the facility had a great job to create a very special environment and experience. The rooms were very clean, decorated with flowers etc. The breakfast was the best. They gave us great tips, suggestions for our trip. We felt like we are part of the family. The facility is very close to the Dambulla Cave Temple but it is also in a very silent corner with a great garden. You can see monkeys, giant squirrel, birds and other wildlife just around the facility. We definitely suggest this place to anyone traveling around Dambulla.

The hospitality we experienced in Simoya nature park was exceptional. It is managed by a wonderful couple who are very warm and welcoming. They ensured at every moment that we had a great time during our stay. We had the best meal here during our trip to Srilanka cooked with so much love. 

We wished we had stayed here for more days

Madhu and Sanje were exceptional and lovely hosts, ensured we were well taken care of throughout our stay, and arranged a number of trips for us. The room was lovely, meals were exceptional and it was great value for money. We would highly recommend Simoya Nature Park to others.
