BLAU Korean Local Experience Stay

Very clean and comfortable room - good bed too, which isn’t always a given in Korean guesthouses! Good breakfast provided each morning. very nice and friendly host, speaks enough English to get by. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated inside. About a 10-15 minute walk away from most main Gyeongju attractions

- make sure you find out from the host beforehand what the door entry code is, or remind them of what time they should expect you. You cannot get in the front door without a code, so i was stood out there on the doorstep for several minutes trying to get the host’s attention until she realised i was there - you can’t bring food into your room, you can only eat it in the common eating area / kitchen. This is understandable as they want to keep the room and bedding clean, but it may be a dealbreaker for some people, so it’s better to know this before booking.

We loved our stay here , we are a family of two adults and young teenagers. Rooms very small and beds on the floor but we didn’t mind. The owner is so lovely and welcoming and she has the most adorable elderly dog . breakfast was light but perfect way to start the day.

Towels provided were tiny but we got used to them

This is small recently refurbished hostel located very closed to main road thoroughfare to the KDX station. Almost every bus from station get you there in 30-40mins. The property is in the walking distance to most attractions located in the town (tomb complexes mostly) and there is convenient transport to other notable locations. Room is small but confortable, with AC, good internet. Perfect for a short visit

Nothing for this price level

The common space was very nice, with nice kitchen that we could prepare light meals like fruits or salads. And coffee!. All was very clean and organized. The hotel looks new and all the facilities are very well mantained. Location was ok, its a small town so everything is close by.

Even though room size was not very big, for us was enough. Bathrooms were too basic, without a cabinet to put stuff. There is no people at the reception, so if you arrive early let hem know. We were waiting in the street with our luggage until someone opened the door.

The homemade breakfast on Sunday was greatly appreciated The host is very responsive Location is good

Small inconsistencies like not taking out the trash every day even though you ask if that is done despite the fact that daily cleaning is not provided by default. I understood that the would take it out but they only did it the day when I asked Also, it was not entirely clean - dust and hair between the wall and bed Very hot in the room during the night in June, cannot sleep with the AC on

Ambiance of Blau House was lovely. We were welcomed when we arrived and were made to feel relaxed and comfortable. Extra bonus was the use of washing and drying machines so we left with clean clothes which felt like luxury.

Blau House was a little bit hard to find in Google maps etc so maybe some clear directions from the bus terminal would be helpful for future travellers but other than that we were very happy.

The size of the towels is a joke - you can barely wipe your face with them, let alone the rest of your body, they are rather cloths. I don't know why there are so many opinions about breakfast - let's agree once and for all - two slices of toast and half an apple per person is not breakfast. The rule against bringing food and drinks into the room is incomprehensible and makes life difficult.
