Peaceful location with spacious clean rooms. Breakfast was very nice.

very clean room in a nice setting. I loved the hammock when you needed a break from the sun on the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sonya Kohlanta as you have nice, well-equipped Bungalows, very friendly personnel, an overalll very well-organized place, amazing breakfast and the best value-for-money. We would come back anytime.

As we had two bungalows we had the chance to experience that the ones in the back are much more quiet and relaxed as the ones in front.

Close to the beach, but the property itself has no beach access. Manager is nice. Wifi is great. The breakfast of the restaurant is great.

It's an absolute mystery to me how this property has a 9+ rating. It was dirty, old, and the location is close to beach but the "resort" itself is unattractive. I didn't sleep well because it was either too hot (without airco), or too cold (the airco is too big for the room, so even on a higher temperature it becomes freezing). There were no blankets and given the grubby state of everything else, I did not want to ask for one. I slept with my jumper on and under a towel. In terms of the dirt, I live in Asia so I know what to expect, but this definitely did not have a normal, let alone a deep clean, in ages. The doorknobs were sticky, the light switches were dirty, the keychain for room was grubby, the airco remote was dirty, there was some weird staining on the shower floor, and the shower floor felt sticky. When I mentioned this, some extra cleaning was done, and the shower floor was better (it did make me wonder what had been caked on the floor before), and the door knobs too. Still didn't want to touch the remote. Massive yellow stains on the sheets, stains around the door (where people touch the door), stains on the toilet bin (looked like pee stains), simply everywhere. Staff indicated that these were "clean stains" and simply could no longer be removed as it's old. But surely a new bin can be purchased. They did change the sheets for whiter ones. As it was, I did not want to touch anything, and slept with a piece of clothing on the pillow, as everything just felt yucky. Would not sit on grubby outside seat. Shower only sprayed only from one end, so you couldn't shower comfortably and everything on the sink got wet. Upon pointing that out, they changed the showerhead. Hammock outside broken. I spoke to the manager, who was courteous & friendly, and a few things improved, as mentioned. They offered me 1 free breakfast and to look at another room.

location couldn’t be better close to bars restaurants shops etc. no motorbike really needed. comfortable spacious bungalows for half the price of smaller waterfront next door but still easy beach access.

What a nice place and a great host! They helped us a lot regarding renting a motorbike, the transport to the airport, where to do our laundry etc. The location is close to the beach and also a good starting point for other trips. Also the food at the restaurant ist very good. We enjoyed our stay very much.
