Tropical Garden

The room looked ok, size and basic facilities where there. We booked this place before my flight in the morning and thought we don´t want to spend a lot on just a few hours of sleep. Price for the room in general is acceptable. The location is close to the beach, lots of restaurants and shops.

At the end we didn´t stay the night at this location. When we arrived the owner wasn´t there, just his mother who could not speak english (not an issue for us because my husband can speak singhala). The room was ok, but on the floor and in the bathroom we found three cockroaches. We sweaped them out and went for dinner. After coming back, we found more and more cockroaches (crawling in the bed, in the bathroom, on the floor) and a frog in the shower. I have lived for several years now in Sri Lanka and know that this can happen, but these were just too many and I knew I won´t be able to sleep before I have to get up early in the morning to catch my flight. The owner still wasn´t there so we called him to explain the situation, he offered us a different room but we declined. We left immediatly and booked a different place. The guesthouse overall looked ok, but needs some more maintanance and cleaning (rooms and garden). It looks better on the pictures.

There are three bunk beds with mosquito nets. There is a well-ecquiped kitchen with fridge, and outside a washing area with a washing machine and a clothes horse. There were soap and towel to use.

There is no locker for personal belongings. A boy, probably a family member, listened music loudly close to the door in the evening, and sometimes randomly open into the room for the light switcher without knocking.

I like the place of the villa, it's peaceful and very comfortable to stay. Nearby beach 5 minutes to walk and very easy to find tuktuk and very safe. The owner are very nice and they are willing to provide what you need. There is a lot of restaurant around the area.

Place is nice and clean, very affordable… Host very helpful. Good wifi and AC.

Water pressure in the shower wasn’t good, better to be replaced.

I really liked the interior and the bathroom. Overall really clean and in nice location
