"Disappointing - not the beach style garden resort we were expecting."

Very friendly owners very helpful with everything

The room was much simpler than expected especially for the cost, the balcony really was just a view over the car park and I had expected it to be more of a garden retreat than simply a house with a car park in front. It wasn't the fault of the owners but there was much building work going on on both sides it made for a not very relaxing stay. Ultimately you will get much better value with a beachside room - do the research.

The Location was great- just a few Steps from the Beach. The room was cosy, good with a/c and fan. The balcony was also great. We could exchange Money here.

The pillows and mattress protection were mouldy. Room was quite small for the Price, considering that we stayed in similar price accommodation with rooms double the size in different areas- but I guess this is because Palolem is touristy. Wi-Fi is slow, not suitable for Video Calls.

We had an amazing experience at Hilias Retreat - room with a balcony, very clean room overall, especially towels and linen, also small cleaning in the middle of our stay was included. Location is good, a lot of shops, cafes, restaurants with good food. Small fridge in a room - big plus.

Only one thing - slow wifi. Not the most important thing there as mobile data could be enough, but still.

The owner/managers felt like our holiday family. They were helpful in all matters and caring. The property is just one street back from the beach front cabins - might be a different experience, but we were very happy coming the 2 minutes back from the busyness of the beach to our quiet retreat. Very comfortable room, well equipped, clean, secure. Make friends with the owners two pugs!
