View of Ganges

I booked this Hotel for 10 days by paying the entire amount in advance.. Once I reached this place, the attendant/ owner (name: Khush) took me to the top floor saying he has upgraded my stay to pent house.. Later, I realized that this room does not have a wardrobe or hangers to hang the used clothes.. It didn't have a hanger in the bathroom either.. On the first day I felt very cold and had to use blankets and thermals to keep myself warm. I thought, it was because of the cold weather. But, on the second day I realised that cold air was coming into the room from below the old window air conditioner.. there was a gap below the air conditioner and the room was getting cold because of the outside air coming in from that gap. The next day when I informed the same to be the owner he ignored it. On the third night, I had a nightmare. There were lizards crawling out of that old air conditioner. Approximately 4-5 lizards came out and I could not sleep the whole night. Immediately I decided I should vacate the place. The next day I complained the same to the old man an old lady ( they seem to be parents of the Kush) at reception. Once I came back in the evening, my room was changed to a better room. This room was better. But, only after the nigtmares I have to go through for 3 days. The attendant (Kush) and old man were very arrogant. After changing the room the attendant says that, whole India has Lizard problem what can I do and I am solving the cold air problem for you. You can vacate if you are not fine. The prices of the food and water are also very high. They charge Gourmet type rates for below average accomodation. Water bottle which is 20 rupees is charged at 35 rupees. When asked about the high price, he says "sadak par mitha he bees rupayyako". Veg Cheese sandwich ( 4 bread slices and 5-6 onion slices) + tea cost me somewhere 450 rupees. Cleanliness of the property was ok. View of Ganges is good. Service and behaviour is bad.

enjoyed our stay at the scindhia guest house. The view from the room was amazing. Burman family makes a lot of effort to make your stay comfortable.

Maybe add a couple of chairs or a small coffee table in the balcony. That would add to the experience.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful location right next to Manikarnika Ghat and overlooking the Ganga river. It was our host Kush though who really made this stay exceptional. He was always on hand to help with anything we needed and went above and beyond to make our stay as good as it could possibly be. Would recommend to anyone!

Access to the guest house

Although the location of the property is fantastic, but to reach the facility on foot for good 900 meters was a bummer. I was traveling with my old parents and they really struggled to reach the guest house. Again the location, room, staff and owner everyone one is welcoming but if you are traveling with old people, or people who don't like to trek and travel on foot, it will be a spoiler.

Location and proximity to Mahadev darshan gate. Close the owner, he was quite warm and accommodative.
