Shiva Ganges View Guest House

The location was ideal for visiting temple. Room was clean with a porch which we enjoyed for meditation. A quiet and peaceful space. The owner is attentive, welcoming and helped us arrange taxi for local sites. Highly recommend for value and location.

Nothing we didn’t like.

A centuries-old house, extremely well-maintained. It reflects Varanasi in its essence. Wonderful view of the Ganges. Inside the old city, so understand that cars or tuk-tuks don't reach the door, but it's only a few meters to the street where cars can circulate. Close to incredible places to eat. The owner is a very kind gentleman.

There's a certain insistence on hiring the hotel guide, but nothing that compromises the stay. You just need to know what you want.

We had a wonderful experience at Shiv Ganga Guesthouse. The rooms are excellent—clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The home-cooked food was absolutely delicious, and the location couldn’t be better—just steps away from the boats and main ghats. Airport transfers were seamless, and the on-call local guide (Vivek Pandey) was incredibly helpful in arranging special experiences during our visit. If you want to truly enjoy the charm of Varanasi’s old city, this is the best and most well-kept place to stay. Highly recommend.
