Sahi River View Guest house

We've been at Sahi River View Guest house in April 2025. It's a colonial house, enriched by Hindu statues and paintings. We stayed in a room with balcony, large, clean and bright. The balcony was actually a bit small but in beautiful colonial style. We could not see the Ganga Aarti from the room, but the guesthouse is in the Assi Ghat, in a wonderful location. The Guest house is run by a nice family, and there is the possibility to change money, eat local food and book transfer from/to the airport.

At Assi Ghat there is the characteristic celebration of Ganga Aarti every sunrise and every sunset. Just take into account that the rooms are not soundproof, you could listen to music in the morning. We actually liked this part because we could enter in the Varanasi culture. I super recommend Sahi River View Guest house for who is looking for a beautiful location near the Ganga river!

Jeetendrabhai and Shikhadi are exceptionally good people. They can instantly make anyone feel comfortable and I would rate Shahi Riverview as a good stay because of them. The rooms are very basic but the location is right on the ghats of Assi. And the view is really awesome.

Nothing much to complain about. Clean and basic is what I think this stay is all about.

Sahi River View is a great place to stay..The roof terrace is a nice place to have breakfast or a tea..from there you can see Assi Ghat..just a 1 minute walk..it is also very convenient that the cars or TukTuks can almost drop you at the doorstep..no need to carry your luggage through the old city.. I really enjoyed my stay and can totally recommend it. If you are a light sleeper you'll hear the morning activities at Assi Ghat..but it is also a short walk to join in..some free yoga at 6 in the morning.. In the evening you can also watch the Ganga Aarti ceremony..
