Compared with other hotels in Camps Bay where my friends stayed, Swiss Cottage Guest house was great value for money. It is not plush, but was perfectly adequate for my purposes, and well located near the beach and all local amenities. The bed was very comfortable. The host upgraded me to a large room - which was a nice surprise! I did not meet the host but he was dilligent in contacting me by WhatsApp at every stage and the arrangements all worked very smoothly - including key pick up from a key safe, and deposit in a key box when I left.

My main issue was merely the toilet/shower which was very small and quite difficult to access - but overall not a big issue for me.

"This was not worth the money we paid."

Nothing at all.

There is no parking for your car, you need to find parking in the street, not ideal especially in peak holidays! The room was stuffy and warm, the average temperature during our stay was above 30 degrees, no aircon, no cleaning, no parking, no water, no cupboard space, winter pillow cases, just imagine in this heat. On new years day it was chaos and noisy with thousands of people streaming to this area, no water or ice available form any surrounding places. The traffic was so bad, we could not get out of the area to go and buy water. On top of it all there was electricity issues, so then the fan could not even run.

"Perfect location, kind host, enough space!"

The host was so nice! He gave us a free upgrade to a bigger room since we were staying there for 6 days, very thoughtful. Also a great communicator and if there was a problem, it was fixed immediately. The location could not have been better! Perfection.

The bathroom was super cute, but very small.

This is the second time that we have stayed at Swiss Cottage. We again enjoyed our stay. Chris and helper (Darwin) are most friendly and helpful. We strongly recommend Swiss Cottage as a reasonably priced accommodation in Camps Bay
