Momotaro House

It was perfect and very quite to stayed there before going to the 10 days of Vipassana meditation that was quite close. The family was very kind, they let me choose the room that was very nice, spacious and clean with a lovely balcony. There was a little kitchen to could use and they kindly refill my bottle in filtered water. It was fantastic to could use have use a washing machine and hanging the clothes in the lovely big terrace upstairs. I would have loved to come back there after Vipassana but I was invited to stay in a monastery so I changed my plan.

from the balcony of the room there is a view of garden full of rubbish but I think that part do not belong to them.

Good location, kitchen and accommodating staff - they helped with car rental and some kitchen utensils when requested.

Mosquitoes, net helped to an extent. Trash thrown in the empty space on the backside of the place, which is the view from kitchen area.

Amazing homestay! The hosts are very lovely people and are always ready to help you enjoy your stay. Eg they were very considerate for my check-in which was quite late, helped us book a car for a day trip to Nalanda and for my night drive to the train station. Room is spacious and comfortable. There is a nice clean kitchen and a washing machine for your laundry. Cute little puppy will meet you at the yard :)

It’s not a problem for me because I love walking, but you should be aware its ≈20 minutes walk to the Temple. Living closer to the temple for me would have been too noisy, crowded and chaotic, so I loved the location.

Momotara House is exceptionally good value for money. Safe and enclosed within gates, with a quiet village feel but only a couple of Kim’s from the centre and Auto rickshaws are always outside. Accommodation is basic but clean with comfortable rooms and beds, a balcony, plenty of hot water and good WiFi. The hosts and their two children are a really lovely little family, the hosts could not have been more helpful and generous. To keep our trip costs down the owner organised a driver to drive his car and charged us a fraction of what we might have paid! He helped to book onward journeys and she organised a phone top up for my mobile. They are both friendly and approachable lots of advice about places to go etc. I didn’t use the kitchen much but it was a bonus to do my washing and hang it out.

Shower head could do with some attention …. That’s it!

You can feel at your home here. Jay and his wife provide everything you need. I love their hospitality. And one thing is it is abit far from the centre of Bodh Gaya but thats the good thing as i see because you can avoid the chaotics from those places, even though you can walk to the centre from there.

I as a lonely women travelling alone. Felt super comfortable. it is clean, the hosts are helpful. The place has it own kitchen, can be nice if you are planning to stay for a longer time. can definitely recommend!

It is a bit far from the Maha Bodhi temple.
