"So so Don't expect breakfast"

The room was clean and a bed was comfortable

The booking said it included breakfast . A member of staff told us that a continental breakfast would be available the following morning . When I went downstairs, a member of staff said we should have pre booked it the night before ?. Basically, the attitude was "Tough luck mate"

"Sadly the noise & vibrations of the trains ruined what could have been a restful night."

The member of staff was pleasant and made us very welcome. Milk was available for a cup of tea in a little fridge downstairs. The room was clean & looked great, with a decent en-suite & the bed was very comfortable.

Despite the website stating a gentle rumble of trains, we could feel the vibrations as the trains whizzed past until 1am and the noise was definitely not gentle. The trains recommenced at 5am. This did not make for a restful night’s sleep. We had not seen any other reviews mentioning the trains so assumed it wasn’t going to be an issue. Disappointing.

"A warm country pub welcome"

A lovely friendly pub - great breakfasts and super staff. We felt very welcomed. Excellent location - ample parking and easy access to the station. Rooms newly refurbished including bathroom - very comfy. We also really enjoyed the Harvey’s Sussex Ale!

"Lovely staff, atmospheric pub, noisy trains"

Lovely staff, small room, next to train line which WHOOSHES with trains. Could have done with more generous toiletries. But the staff are gorgeous.

"Convenient comfortable place though quite pricey."

The room was clean comfortable with a very good shower. The staff were friendly and Alex was extremely helpful.

It was right by the station with frequent trains in the day but no disturbance at night. Unfortunately there was no cooked breakfast available on a Monday!
