"Warm, welcoming, lovely comfortable stay"

Undoubtedly the staff that made this stay so lovely. They were all friendly, accommodating, helpful and kind. Little touches like the little jugs fresh milk in the fridge for the tea were very welcome

There was occasional noise from trains nearby, but then we had a great day in Brighton because of the train line!!

"Good food, great staff and comfortable bed."

Beautiful big bed and lovely decor. Great breakfast and the pub evening meal was excellent. Lovely staff too.

Room was a little tight for space and no tv (which didn’t actually bother us as we were only there for one night but may be an issue for others)

"Exceptional"

Stayed here before and returned again as we were completing the VGW. It was perfectly located, great staff and excellent customer service.

Continental breakfast could have a few more options. Previously had the Full English which was superb.

"Nice comfty room but a bit loud"

Lovely staff, cosy room, handy for what we needed and very reasonable price.

It was quite loud and as I am a lighter sleeper it meant I didn’t sleep well. It was ok when the trains stopped but there seemed to be people up until around 3am (not sure if they were staff) then the people in the next room went in at 4am and were very loud, so unfortunately I just didn’t sleep!

"An excellent inn"

The Berwick Inn was an excellent base to explore the South Downs. As we stayed only Sunday night and I was a bit late arriving the manager kindly phoned me to check I was on my way before the last orders time for food (19:30). The pub is closed on Monday but the manager still managed to provide a lovely breakfast of pain au chocolate, croissants and tea cakes. Top rate customer service was shown by all staff

Really lovely breakfast and a warm welcome from the team.

Room was smaller than expected and the access to "balcony" was a public one at the back of the pub at ground level, not linked to the room as implied.
