I loved everything about this place. The owner was very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cottage I stayed in was very clean.

I have nothing to fault. I loved absolutely everything about my stay.

"Disappointing"

Owners seem like nice people

Thought we were checking into a Guesthouse because it's on Booking.com Actually just someone's house where they do booking rentals part time and it shows. Owners building new room before fixing old ones. Roof drips when it rains and owner is aware of it. No sleep for us. Freezing. Asked for an extra blanket and was given a stinky dog blanket covered in hair. Let him know and then got a throw blanket instead which didn't help much so we just suffered. Noisy construction and owner admitted he should have closed rooms. No peace for us until we spent entire day complaining. He eventually sent them home at the end of the day. Parking was a mess Random vehicle blocking us in and driveway was difficult to maneuver in. Owner was away for half of our stay so we had no one to assist us. We asked for compensation due to constant issues and even though he said we would discuss when he got back from his work trip, we never saw him as he avoided us. Offered us 2pm check out due to our flight and compt 2 loads of washing but not happy with daily rate we paid.

beautiful cottage - comfortable and well suited for a self catering for work or holiday stay. Cleaned daily, which is always appreciated.

parking is very tricky - in terms of getting in and out at the bottom of the driveway.

We received a very warm welcome at Hillingdale. The room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. We will have no hesitation in recommending Hillingdale to friends and family.

Nothing to dislike. Location, accommodation and the staff were exceptional.
