The location is incredible, the owner Roshan was super friendly and always there to help, staff were brilliant. Very chilled feel, amazing place.

distance from the "down-town" (why? actually we were surprised how low-crowded are the place we visited in Sri Lanka. Originally we booked placed a bit distant, but knowing the situation I would not be affraid looking for places closer to the town)

Stunning hotel on the beach front in Modara between Weligama (5mins tuk tuk/ 30min walk) and Mirissa (5-10min tuk tuk). Really friendly people and so good to walk out the room straight on the beach. The beach isn’t crowded unlike Weligama so you get it to yourself. You can still surf, sunbathe, SUP and swim here too. Rooms were large, spacious and clean with good AirCon too. Hot showers and large beds. Little balcony to chill on in the evenings under the palm trees. Really is a beautiful place and it was a shame to have to leave. The owner was very helpful and welcoming offering tips and helped us out at the last minute when our taxi cancelled. Thank you!

The food / drink service is a little slow but the boys are all really friendly and when you’re on the beach it’s very relaxed still.

Location is superb! Absolutely beautiful views out onto quiet end of beach. Better for those wanting to be away from busy surfing end. Staff were friendly and helpful. Organised us some trips to spice farm and whale watching. Rooms were large and comfortable. Had a great view out onto garden and sea from balcony. 30 min walk along beach/ short tuk tuk ride into centre of Weligama. Close to Mirissa too. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend. We booked for 3 nights but ended up extending our stay by another 2 nights ...and weren't the only ones to do so.

Lovely room, but small water leak.

Amazing property for a quiet & relaxing stay. We regret not staying longer as this resort exceeded our expectations! Staff is super friendly and really helpful. Rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. The sound of the waves will give you a relaxing and restorative sleep! Food is delicious, we tried different dishes and all were tasty! Any extra activity can be arranged by the staff. The beach is clean and quiet, you are away from the surfers crowds and can swim freely. Definitely a place we highly recommend for your next stay!

Booking a hotel is a challenge as there are so many to choose from. We booked Relax Beach Resort based on location and reviews. What did we find? Location was better than expected as the hotel is located at a quieter part of Weligama beach compared to the part that is more central. The more central parts of Weligama are just a walk away on the beach or a short ride with a Tuktuk. The hotel is also close to Merissa, so you can easily get the experience from both places. This hotel is run by Roshan and his family and staff. They all aim at making the stay as good as it possibly can be. Offering drives to Merissa or train-station or other locations, etc. We spent a week in this lovely hotel with its beautiful garden and nice beach in front of the hotel. The hotel rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is good and a very nice and welcoming atmosphere created by family and staff. We also had most dinners in the restaurant that the hotel has on the beach for hotel guest and anyone else passing by and it suited us very well and the food was traditional Sri Lankan food. I can really recommend this lovely hotel if you are looking for a peaceful stay in a very nice environment.

Excellent secluded location away from crowded beaches, perfect for beginners to learn the basics of surfing.
