"Perfect in every way!"

10.0

5* service in 5* surroundings, our stay exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was delicious and well cooked with good quality ingredients. Lots of choice available. The room was clean and comfortable with incredible views over the estuary. Lots of lovely little touches. The bedding was very high quality, we slept so well. Staff went above and beyond for my husbands 40th Birthday which was very much appreciated. We are already planning our next visit!

"Overall, it was a relaxing stay, friendly and helpful staffs"

Breakfast was perfectly cooked to order, delicious, promptly served and well presented.

The mattresses were rather flat and hard, not particularly comfortable possibly because of their age.

"Just perfect - can’t guarantee weather of course but didn’t spoil a gorgeous few days in the beautiful Welsh countryside"

10.0

Very cosy, artfully decorated, lovely breakfast room and communal lounge well equipped with books, music, games. Naz, the host, was more than welcoming and a very friendly, dignified lady. Nothing seemed too much and she recommended several lovely local restaurants, The Bank in Barmouth definitely worth a visit. Breakfasts were very good. Gardens beautiful and surrounding scenery outstanding. Perfect stay and will definitely visit again

Nothing bothers me more to like, seriously

"Easily one of the best places we have stayed at."

10.0

Barthwnog Hall is easily one of the best places we have stayed in. The home is gorgeous and the owners obviously have spent time, money and effort in furnishing it with high quality furniture and fixtures. Everything was top notch and great care has been taken to provide the guests with amenities for a comfortable stay. There is coffee, tea, milk, and water provided in the room (my hubby says the coffee-maker in the room made a great cup - probably the best he has had in a "hotel"). The toiletries provided were also name brand and high quality. Breakfast was plentiful with a variety of items to suit most palates. Naz, the manager, is warm and hospitable and we really enjoyed meeting her. Rooms are cleaned every day, which is a nice touch. There are a few places to eat in Barmouth and Dolgellau (a short drive away).

As another reviewer commented, the pillows are very soft (but there was a memory foam pillow in the closet which we discovered too late).

"Exceptional"

10.0

We stayed behind the main building. This was very private but without the view. We were anxious there may have been noise from the road but this was not the case. Excellent staff, lovely breakfast and the interior and location has so much character, made for a special, memorable stay. We recieved a surprise gift of chocolates as a birthday gift.

The setting is utterly beautiful, the house is wonderful. The staff were outstanding, and there is a generosity and warmth that elevates the experience of being there. The bedroom had a fantastic view and a great shower and bed, with quality toiletries.

"More than perfect, beautiful location"

10.0

Second visit and we just love it! Tranquil location with a beautiful view over the estuary. Naz is very friendly, helpful yet unobtrusive. Stayed in the cottage on this visit and friends stayed in the King Size superior room with balcony. Clean and well appointed rooms, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. Plenty of choice at breakfast, which is good and local where possible. Stayed for 2 nights exploring the area - bonus was they were filming an Anthony Hopkins film in Dolgellau!

nothing to dislike - thank you Naz!

"Hidden Gem"

10.0

Borthwnog Hall is an absolute gem !! A beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous location for exploring this area of outstanding beauty. After a recommendation from our host, Naz, we spent some time walking the Cregennan Lakes and the stunning views they offered. We had an evening meal at the George III which was lovely and an evening meal at the Fanny Talbot in Barmouth, which was excellent. The breakfast at Borthwnog was outstanding. Most of all what made our stay so perfect was the attention and care we got from Naz. She is an exceptional host and went the extra mile for our 1st Wedding Anniversary trip.

Nothing worth noting.
