"Very quiet and tropical ambience looots of trees and shrubs … serene"

10.0

Breakfast could have options.

Parking for personal 4 wheelers is a bit tacky. Mine was a weekday stay .. still had to maneuver tight spots. Wonder how it’ll be on the weekends.

"A blissful retreat, perfect to recharge"

10.0

A lovely lodging surrounded by serene gardens, perfect to relax with a cup of tea and read your book. The whole atmosphere is very calming and peaceful, perfect to recharge. The room was exceptionally clean. My room came with the private terrace, which was an added bonus. You definitely need to arrange some mode of transport to get around, though it’s a 15 min walk to the Auroville road, where you can find all the shops/ cafes.

"Beautiful garden vibes..."

8.0

The garden is brilliant and also that the rooms are very well ventilated with a lot of windows ... The ambiance of rooms Are well thought out with the garden vibes outside.. We can order good meals from the auroville app. The host did invite me for dinner one of the times.. though I already had plans to eat out that night.

It seemed to be a bit more rule oriented than I am used to in such stay places with a common kitchen and community vibe. Two things specifically, 1) breakfast are specific limited items. As with hotels of different budget ranges I have been used to getting a buffet which is all you can eat, sometimes there may be only 2 or 3 items but it's usually all you can eat. Here I got a piece of paper telling me my options - two slices of toast and 1 cup of tea or 1 bowl of muesli or something like that. The portions felt v less, so I wasn't excited abt it much. but I don't know what was the scene in reality becaause I didn't go for any brkfast ... Mostly due to this limited quantities.. I don't like having half a meals. 2) the washing machine costs 400 INR for one use. Plus, the washing is done by staff, so we can't use it whenever we wish. So, if we have some urgency with regards getting clean clothes, it may not be possible. Moreover, I had an issue - my booking mentioned FREE washing machine.. so I raised it with the office staff and he basically said the mistake was from booking.com so he can't do anything abt it. And I have to talk to booking.com directly. I have usually met a lot more accommodative and helpful hosts especially in places with common kitchen spaces and community vibe as this place had. Ashrams however can be quite unaccommodative sometimes, on the other hand... So I think this is due to that.
