Wind Tales

Start to end and everything between our stay at wind tales was perfect. All the staff and the owner Alex are there to give you advice and help in anyway they can. The room and the views are so special. We went to all the restaurants Alex recommended and each one was excellent. It has set the bar high for the rest of our island hopping trip. On the last day our ferry got cancelled and the ticket office told us there was no other way to get to our next destination but Alex found us an alternative route, without him we would have been stranded. Thank you so much for making the start of our trip something to cherish forever.

The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had, but the coffee could have been hotter, that would be our only fault with this amazing place

Everything was perfect! We arrived to Alexis the owner and Dimitri welcoming us from our taxi. Dimitri took our bags to the hotel while Alexis walked us to the hotel, explaining the area & the pathways. We were greeted with a homemade lemonade on arrival and Alexis took his time to go through the map of Syros and Ano Syros sharing recommendations & directions. We only stayed one night but it was absolutely beautiful, perfect location , unusual yet traditional decor. The pool area was stunning & aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast was all made by Alexis and was served on the balcony by the pool. All locally sourced produce. The view was pretty impressive.

It is a beautiful property and the breakfast is amazing. The view from the top to the port makes all the difference. Antonia was a great host helping us with tips and booking us car and activities. Had an amazing relaxing time at Wind Tales.

Minor detail but in the last day the check out felt a bit rushed.

Such a unique experience! The guesthouse is literally carved into the hillside, decor is homey and inspired. Host Alexis makes hospitality a work of the soul, gave us personal recommendations and helped arrange reservations and taxis. Wonderful service from Dimitri and Tonia. Delicious breakfast—strapatsada 💜. Amazing views. Winding streets of Ano Syros are enchanting. Note that guests with mobility issues might choose another place to stay, but if you up for the climb, you will be richly rewarded!

I think the best way to describe this hotel is special - it was unlike anywhere we’ve stayed before. The attention to detail and care given by Alexis and his staff is incredible (special thanks to Tonia who prepared a delicious breakfast every morning with local and homemade produce!) The property itself is beautiful, situated in the medieval hilltop village of Ano Syros, and Alexis gave us many amazing, personalised recommendations upon our arrival. We had such a lovely stay and it was a pleasure to meet everyone there. Would recommend to others in a heartbeat.

Nothing about the property itself - just be prepared for steps as it’s in a hilly place but Wind Tales came to meet us on arrival, showed us how to not get lost, and picked up our luggage for us so no complaints at all!

There are only 4 rooms and therefore it allows you to get to chat to other guests and staff. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble, they are very knowledgeable about the island and provide you with lots of tips. The breakfast is amazing with lots of different fresh produce sourced locally. A special thank you to Tonia who looked after us when Alexis had to return to Athens for a few days.

There are a lot of steps to get up to Wind Tales, however when we didn’t feel up to the climb we got a taxi which only costs €6. The kind staff also assist you with your bags.

Host Alex and his staff were amazing.Excellent breakfast and amazing views.Not that easy walking up and down to main town for less mobile.Easy to get a Taxi for 5 or 6 euros.

The host is extremely nice person. The property itself provides you awesome views and access to magical tiny whitewashed streets of artistic hidden gem Ano syros. Getting to Syros is 20 minutes walk or just a affordable taxi ride away. All the pubs bars and near by places are quite commendable. The host Alexis and his partners make this place even more magical for you. The way they prepare breakfast for you, guide you how to get around city and even make reservations for you on your behalf is amazing. Its like someone genuinely taking care of guest in their house. It did not feel transactional even for a minute. It was so relaxing for mind and soul that I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone. As a matter of fact if I go to Syros again I am going to Wind tales.
