Wind Tales

Such a fantastic place to stay! Nestled in the beautiful old town of Ano Syros, this place has spectacular views and tons of charm. The owner, Alexis, came to meet us at the port when we arrived in Syros to help guide us to the hotel. He also took the time to explain what to see and where to go on the island which ensured we made the most of our time on the island. We were very happy with our room which was totally unique, our bed was nestled into the rocks of the hillside. I also feel it important to mention how helpful and friendly the staff were and how much we enjoyed the breakfast.

From the moment we arrived at Windtales until we left, we enjoyed our experience. Alexis arranged transfers not only to/from the port but throughout our stay as well. The first day, he suggested local restaurants and things to see and do. We enjoyed great food and met amazing people. Made to order breakfast was served every morning while overlooking the ocean right outside our room. Was such a pleasure to get to know the staff, Tonia and Dimitri. The rooms, the views and the people make staying at Windtales one of the best experiences of our trip

The hotel owner arranged a taxi to pick us up (about 15 EURO + tip) from the ferry to drive us to the outskirts of Ano Syros. They then carried our bags to the hotel. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast satisfying (eggs cooked to our request). We had a dip in the pool which was pleasant. Ano Syros is a town of very narrow walking paths more than streets perched on the hillside, so there are steps everywhere. We enjoyed walking around the old town, getting lost in the labyrinth but always finding our way back to the hotel. The owner was helpful in suggesting places to visit, and arranged transport too (which we paid for).

Loved everything! Alexis is an excellent host with many great recommendations. The breakfast is delicious!

Great unique designed property with outstanding views. Alexis was lovely and super informative with great recommendations locally and around the island and helping us with car hire. Ano Syros is a lovely town with a couple restaurants and bars and the walk down to the port is many many steps taking about 25/30mins.

We loved it, but steps to one of the rooms is quite an experience. So for others to just be careful on one of the 4 rooms you can book to make sure you’re okay with these as no handle/railing to support yourself coming down.

Hospitality excellent Alexis and his staff go the extra mile in making your stay memorable. The beautiful ambience of the surroundings of the town is reflected in the quality of the hotel the attention to detail is first class. You will never forget your stay at wind tales .

Host Alexis and staff Dimitri & Tonia were very warm and welcoming. Alexis was spot on with all his recommendations for places to eat, beaches to go to and bars and attractions to visit. Our room was traditional, spotless and had an amazing view with our own verandah where our breakfast was served every morning. The charm of Ano Syros was unlike any other Greek island town we have experienced before. It was challenging at first getting lost in a medieval town built in a way to confuse sea raiders and pirates but after a couple of days you get to know the twists and turns of the alley ways.

We had a wonderful six night stay at Wind Tales in mid-August. The team made us feel very welcome from our first arrival. The breakfast is fantastic - so fresh and the local and homemade ingredients were delicious. We loved our room (Rock) and the communal areas. The team were very helpful with recommendations and organising things around the island (including car rental, reserving sun beds and restaurants). Anos Syros is a beautiful village and really comes to life at night. Thank you so much Wind Tales team - we had a great time and want to especially shout out Tonia and Dimitri for their excellent hospitality.
