splendid lake view safari lodge

The family who runs the lodge is lovely. Also, we had really really tasty food there. We did the safari with the owner of the lodge and it was really great. We saw lots of elephants and other animals. The rooms are clean but basic. Price/value is very good but don’t expect a luxury hotel.

The place was beautiful even without the lake with wáter enough to swim. The room was very confortable and had a private balcony with nice views. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. We did the safary tour with the owner and we loved It, he really knows the place, and is very good at spotting small animals like lizards and birds.We saw many elephants, some of them very close! It was fantastic... Highly recomended It!

The hotel is in a quiet and wonderfully idyllic location on a small lake. The room was equipped with everything you need. It was clean and had a balcony with a view of the lake. The warm couple who run the hotel were always friendly, helpful and accommodating. The landlord himself offers high quality safaris, it was a wonderful experience, including a lovingly prepared breakfast in the national park. All wishes regarding transportation, travel tips and extra requests were fulfilled immediately. Another highlight was the incredibly delicious dinner cooked especially for us by the lady of the house, which we were served on the floating platform on the lake. The garden is wonderful. We would come back at any time

This is a very romantic place on the lake side. The owner built a pontoon on the lake and you can have dinner there. It is very nice and quiet. The lady cooked very good beakfast and dinner and her husband drives a safary jeep so we had a full day safari in Udawalawe National Park. Amazing experience!!! Go there!

We only spend one night here to do the morning safari. The room was simple and basic, but fine for one night. The property is beautifully located at a lake, great for a refreshing swim! We could get delicious rice and curry for dinner at the house as well. We went for the morning safari with the host and had a great time, he was very attentive to our wishes, a safe and skilled driver and very respectful of nature and the animals in the park. We highly recommend!

We loved the Lake surroundings and being able to eat next to and swim in the lake. The host was very attentive without being around too much. We could also book and go on a Jeep safari to the National Park directly with him. The safari was fantastic- we saw so many elephants. The room and shower was great for our needs- air con, fan, good bathroom, nice beds. We would have stayed longer if we had had more time. Highly recommended

Beautiful location on a small lake, great food, very friendly and helpful owners, small but clean rooms. And the owner Samantha is providing the best safari tours at Udawalawe National Park. Book an all-day tour with him, you will not regret it. We met many tourists doing a 4h tour starting in the early morning who haven’t seen a single elephant. We started later, but took our time and went deep into the park. At the end of the day we saw more than 50 elephants, 5 crocodiles and many other animals.

I was welcomed warmly by Ms. Mudi, she gave me some suggestions about what I could do close by, and later cooked the best Sri Lankan dinner I've had here. The breakfast was also good. The owner also took me on a safari, and gave a fair price. The room was spacious and clean, and plus points there was hot water and AC. I came because of a recommendation from a friend, and would definitely recommend the place to others in the future.

Very nice people there. Relaxed and I think the best safari tour because the guide knows to see the animals :-). Greetings to him!
