Golden View B&B

It was clean, tidy, all in working order and met all the criteria we were looking for. The staff were attentive and caring. The view from the balcony was worth every rupee.

I completely fell in love with the view from the balcony and as a hobbyist bird photographer I got so many exceptional photos of the raptors circling over the valley and occasionally coming very close to the balcony and even flying beneath it.

The room was clean and cozy with, as you'd expect, a golden view of upper McLeod Ganj and the mountains beyond. The staircase down to the hostel was not as bad as many people have suggested, considering that the entire city is built on a slope and you'll be climbing up and down hills to get anywhere! It's just part of life here. The room was (mostly) very quiet, with strong and stable wifi and filter water available so I didn't have to keep buying water bottles. I would definitely stay here again.

There's no proper check-in desk, so I sometimes had to search around the hostel a bit to find the staff if I needed to ask something. I can see how this would make some people feel unsafe, but I (solo male traveller) never felt uncomfortable. And, the staff were always very responsive on WhatsApp.
