Aeolian Ranch Guest house

It was away from the tourist resorts and commercial nonsense of Kona. Peaceful.

The place really needs to be painted throughout and fixed up. Rooms and bathroom are very basic, but are clean and do function. Beds are large enough for two, but not really comfortable.

The owner welcomed me, it was nice and warm. Thank you 😊! the venue was cute & impressive, I could feel lots of DIY skills and knowledge throughout the property. Also nice location, close to the airport & amazing ocean view.

My room was right next to the bathroom, I wish there was a soundproof of some sort but it was okay, I slept well.

It’s a quaint little oasis on the mountain, loved the common area, the view is breathtaking. All other guests are lovely and we exchanged stories daily over coffee. It’s a quiet place, you will hear all kinds of insects, frogs and birds at night, I personally love it ! It’s a wooden structure so yes sounds does travel, but nothing a good pair of earplugs couldn’t block.

Be mindful that there is no stove or hot plate in the kitchen. Does have a toaster oven and microwave though. Make sure you don’t bring food that needs to be cooked on a stove top. Perfectly fine if you just need to assemble a sandwich or heat up leftover food.

Staff was very kind; kitchen was spacious and covered needs along with the common areas.

Bathroom lock was not functioning very well; maybe a lot of guests for one shared bathroom, didn't have an issue, but I could see it being.

Very peaceful and quiet location. For simple lodging that is a private bedroom with shared bathrooms, kitchen and living room, it is better than imagined. It is a historic ranch with loving owners. Despite feeling worlds apart, it is close to airport and many dining and recreation options.

The staff were super helpful and the views from the common area was exceptional.

Nothing, it's a very relaxing stay

Convenient location. The living room area is the positive point of the property, especially when enjoying the coffee facing the view. The staff is nice and provided good advices about the island.

We booked the “Deluxe double one bed room with sea view” but we were facing the parking without a view which was disappointing. Our bedroom has a private shower and I am pretty sure that the description of the bedroom initially mentioned that at the time I made the reservation but the shower was out of order with a note to use the shared shower. This is okay but a bit odd that the owner then mentioned that I actually booked a shared bathroom (which is now in the description)..
