Aeolian Ranch Guest house

Not much to like. Nothing alluring, attractive or special about the property. Was not as described or depicted in website photos. Advertised as having full kitchen with stove, but there was no stove or any heating or cooking surface. Couldn’t cook the meal I brought for dinner after being on the water all day. The closest restaurant is 5 miles away. Advertised as having picnic area but only had small round table and two metal chairs. There is no grill or smoker outside. The room was advertised as Mountain View but it faces back lot line vegetation. No outdoor amenities such as a porch or terrace. While the surrounding area is picturesque, this property is not.

Despite pictures showing a stove and representation that the property had a “full kitchen,” there was no stove or any means to cook a full meal. Had to drive more than ten miles back and forth at night to find a restaurant.

The location was wonderful. We enjoyed the view from the general room where the kitchen was, and our host was very considerate. This was our first time staying in a shared house and I wasn't sure what to expect. There are three rooms, but the house was quiet and peaceful. I would love to come back here some day.

I will say that this property was exactly what we were looking for in a local and peaceful retreat. However, it isn't modern looking so I would recommend that you look at the pictures so you understand what you are booking.

Beautiful location, comfortable bed

Thomas and Kana are amazing hosts. They’re graceful, kind, and thoughtful. My partner and my flight wasn’t arriving to Kona until midnight, which was too late to arrive to this residence. Unfortunately I didn’t realize this until after the cancellation window had passed and we were going to be out all of our money, and have to spend the night in the airport anyway. Amazingly, the hosts were wonderful and gave us a break over Christmas and reduced our charge to the minimum.

Not that we didn’t like it, because I’m sure we will enjoy the serenity of not having vehicles showing up at midnight into a rural area. But it’s good for folks to be aware that if you’re arriving into Kona late night, choose a different location.

There was no one there to meet me or let me in No note or keys left with door number I had to wake up another guest who rang all 3 numbers with no answer I had written to say l would be late Only 11pm . Not that late. Im 68 years old and had to sleep in my car in their car park It was cold and very uncomfortable I had been traveling for 2 days from UK The host should have called me and left keys and instructions I need a full refund .
