Buddika Safari & Resort

Buddika is a wonderful host and couldn’t do enough for us. He organised a wonderful safari (the entrance is practically on the doorstep) and sent us off with a packed breakfast. He also took us himself to the Elephant transit home and also dropped us off at somewhere to eat when we first arrived and he told us lots of amazing info about the area and showed us the dam. Things are a bit more spread out in Udawalawe in terms of shops/places to eat so not really walking distance so you need taxis/Tuk Tuks

Loved every minute of my stay here, we were greeted with drinks on arrival, delicious Sri Lankan dinner and lunch prepared for us as was a great value safari arranged by the resort with a breakfast packed for us for our early morning safari. Waiting and booking at the accommodation was much cheaper plus they have fabulous hot showers, clean large rooms and air conditioning Thank you for making our stay so memorable

We stayed at Buddika’s just for one night to do the Udawalawe safari. The place is almost next to the park entrance and exactly what we needed for one night. Quiet, clean and with very friendly people. Organising stuff with Buddika was so easy, he helped us with safari, taxis and they cook an amazing meal and breakfast. Great value for money

Family of 4 stayed for one night. Excellent stay for the price we paid. Location and service is really good. It is a very nice and basic hotel that ticks all the boxes. We did 2 safaris, one in the afternoon and one in the morning and our guide, Shanaka Pradeep, was excellent. Very knowledgably and had an incredible eye to find animals. We saw loads of elephants, crocodiles, peacocks, water buffalos and exotic birds. We did also do the elephant orphanage, but I wouldn't rate that too high.

Spacious bed and bathroom. Very friendly owners and staff. Only two minutes from Udawalawe national park for Safari. Nice curry dinner. Good shower with waterpower :-)

The door between bedroom and bathroom has a ‘closer’ which makes it heavy to open the door. My advice to the owner is to adjust the strength of this ‘closer’ as to make it more light for the arm muscles.
