Buddika Safari & Resort

The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The hosts were extremely kind and went above and beyond to accommodate us. They also organised an excellent safari for us with a brilliant driver and guide, Shabaka Pradeep, who was knowledgable about the animals and spoke great English.

We stayed here for just one night and were warmly welcomed upon arrival around midday. A spontaneous jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park was arranged for us right away – such great service! The safari was guided by Shanaka Pradeep, who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and knew all the best spots in the park to see animals. He even spotted the tiniest creatures – truly impressive and highly recommended! So if you book a safari through this hotel ask for him! In the evening, we had rice and curry at the hotel – absolutely delicious, authentic, and full of flavor. Breakfast the next morning was also fantastic – fresh, tasty, and plentiful. Since there was no driver available nearby for our onward journey to Mirissa, the owner kindly offered to drive us himself – so helpful and genuinely kind. Everything about our stay was excellent – highly recommended!

Rooms were spacious & comfortable

Comfortable rooms, great location just 300 m from the entrance of the park. Hospitable host who prepared for us tasty dinner, arranged us the whole safari and even prepared a delicious breakfast to go. We were the only ones who had our breakfast in the safari jeep. But the most important is the high quality of our safari guide - Shanaka pradeep. He has great intuition where to see and wait for the animals. We saw 20 elephants when there were some groups who hardly seen any elephants. It is obvious that Shanaka is a nature enthusiast, has a lot of knowledge and serves you many interesting information. Many thanks, it was an unforgettable adventure!

It was wonderful. Buddika went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and very well taken care of. The staff was super friendly and the food was just delicious!!! Also we loved the safari organised through Buddika and that he took us to the Elephant Sanctuary and for a supercool evening drink at the dam.

We were most happy with our lovely stay at Buddika. Our rooms were modern, air conditioned and quite luxurious.. which was a very pleasant surprise, after all our travels beforehand. The meals were wonderful, all our tourist and elephant safaris were great, and we have enjoyed a first rate experience. The host family are so friendly, charming and very helpful. We came for the baby elephants.. this was the best experience we could want.. and stayed a few days extra. There was so much for my wife and I to do and see.. we will be back soon. As this is my second visit to the elephants and Buddika , we aim to make it three visits as soon as we can. I thoroughly recommend this hotel, and our wonderful experience.

The host was incredibly thoughtful! Not only did he help arrange tickets, accommodation, and transportation, but he also took us to hidden spots to see wildlife and shared a wonderful dinner with us. The room was very new and the hot water was excellent—more than enough!

I absolutely loved my stay here! The room was brand new, very spacious and spotless. The location is great, only a few hundred meters from the park entrance. Buddika and his family are the most lovely people and went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. He organised a safari and my onward transport which was extremely helpful. His sister is an amazing cook and her curry was the best I have ever had. Highly recommended!

Everything was great, from the staff, to breakfast, safari organization. Also they allowed late check out since I didnt feel well. The owner is really friendly, they all are trying to make you feel really nice at property! Full reccomendation for this place :)
