Good food friendly staff,

Location was great and had parking.

Bathroom needs a complete re vamp. Very old fashioned, moldy shower cubicle. Poor lighting on the staircase. Twin beds need replacing. No housekeeping for the 2 nights we were their, had to ask for toilet roll and milk. Insecure door lock on the bedroom door, only 2 screws in lock instead of 4. Very dark staircase, we appreciate it's a lovely old building in a convenient location, but needs love and attention and labels to show electrical pack testing has been carried out and no instructions of what to do in the event of a fire or where the assembly point is. Area by fire door needs rubbish removing. Lunch in the pub on arrival was good and area was clean and tidy waitress was very pleasant. Its a lovely building but with care and attention it would be a great place to stay. Not suitable for older or infirm people as staircase is steep.

Brilliant location. The Farriers is a very old pub and a listed building. If you are expecting smart modern fixtures and fittings then you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a no frills, value for money experience then you will have a warm welcome from the staff and regulars alike. The free parking was a definite bonus.

Entrance to the room via stairs were uninviting and noisy, loose floor boards on the landing. Shower was disappointing, very low water pressure. This is a very old building with character

The location was excellent and dinner was good.

There was no breakfast available. We have never stayed in a hotel without anywhere to hang one's clothes -- a peg on the wall with three coat-hangers. Not even a chair. In the evening the pleasant young woman serving dinner was also entirely on her own serving at the bar. She deserves a bonus from the management.
