Shinazawa has a great location. We stayed in the winter and the ski shuttle bus to the main gondola was only 50m walk to the pick up stop. Also, it is only a 10-15min walk up to the town centre where there are restaurants, bars and cute little shops. The building was warm and very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was exceptionally generous and varied and when we booked dinner it was tasty with a traditional theme. The drying room was good and the ski room had a worktable. We enjoyed the onsen which was a pretty good size. There is also a coin operated washing machine available for use. We always found the owners and staff extremely helpful and courteous. A great stay and would be happy to come back again.

We found the futons thin and firm but the owners helped us out by placing soft blankets under the sheets.

The location to the shuttle bus to the resort is great, and the basement Onsen is a real treat. The owners are so nice and have a lot of help via email before our stay as well

The showers being public would be the only downside
