The Retreat at Groenfontein - No Self Catering

This is a place with tranquility and exceptional natural beauty. The winding roads, the mountains, the mist, the birdlife and the people all go to make this place special. We stayed in a very comfortable suite with a magnificent view. Even though we had to leave very early next morning, tea was delivered to our room even before the sun was up.

My only regret is that we did not stay longer. We were just passing through. To get full benefit from a visit to The Retreat, you need to stay two or three nights.

Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The environment around the place and the possibility of swimming in the dam and to hike around. Good food.

Beautiful location in the mountains

The location is superb. A gorgeous spot at the end of a road in the valley. Friendly greeting, comfortable rooms and a social experience at mealtimes with very tasty food.
