Very good location, 7 min walking distance from the main gate of the site. Very helpful family. Kalum can organise everything you need. Very nice safari (72 elephants in one afternoon 😉), bicycle booking (even for young kids 👍), laundry, taxi... His mother is a very good cooker. You can experience local food. Family atmosphere.

the host and his mother delightful people she is an amazing cook real sri lankan food he offered tour guiding and was an excellent tour guide to the ancient city very knowledgeable he also offered a safari that looked amazing but we had already just done one should have waited for his remeber to ask for hot water to be turned on for showers

Close to clock tower bus stop. Guest house is just opposite the bus stop. Very budget price. Polonnaruwa park ticket office 3 minutes walk. Good Airconditioner,fan, mosquito net, nice powerful cold shower, owner speaks good English, cycle hiring available, you can order dinner.

The room light is very dim. Needs a bright light.

Friendly people and I was served the most toothsome home cooked food in great quantities. Simply delicious. They take great care of their guests. I can only recommend it.

As reported elsewhere, the meals were very good.

It was well worn. The bikes available for rental are not for tall people.

The whole family was welcoming and nice. They cared so much about the guests and always provided snacks for any occasion. I spent a very good time with them all! The safari he’s offering was incredible, we saw dozens of elephants.

Kalum was lovely and picked me up from the train station because I told him I would arrive quite late in the evening. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by his mother who prepared a delicious dinner for me (traditional curry and rice with plenty of vegetables and side dishes). The next morning Kalum took me for a safari and was, overall, an excellent guide. The room size was good, bathroom facilities okay (didn't really have hot water, but it was lukewarm and given the heat in general, it didn't feel too bad).

The room had a mosquito net but I'm afraid it had holes in it, so not ideal. And there's no AC, just a fan which is on its last legs - not the end of the world, but could be better. The accommodation is really cheap because Kalum will try to make you go on the safari (essentially you can't say no to him!). However, when you add it all up, it's a pleasant stay and a fairly authentic Sri Lankan experience living with a family.
