te Whare -Lake Tarawera tree-top nest

It's a bit remote, but that's one of the reasons we picked it! Overlooks Lake Tarawera and the magnificent sleeping volcano (I could never tire of these views)! Lamees and Fred were fabulous and kind. The apartment was comfortable, peaceful, and beautifully decorated. The couch (all the furniture and the entire place was built by Fred and it is so ingenious) looks so uncomfortable in the photos but is really nicely comfortable. Having the fridge stocked with snacks and breakfast foods was a beautiful touch. It had all we needed and then some. The views, the hosts, the accommodations were all excellent!

We got lost on the grounds a couple of times because there are so many paths, gates, and walkways. Maybe it's just us, but a small sign or indicator of how to get around might have helped (it wasn't a big deal at all, just felt like maybe we were trespassing on their personal property trying to figure out how to get to our car)!

Location amazing with great view. Hosts were wonderful - the property was immaculate and it had everything we needed.

Unique property. Wonderful views over lake and volcanoes. Comfortable and well equipped. Owners very helpful and friendly.

Not a criticism- but by its nature a treehouse is compact ! Only comment for the future : details mentioned barbecue but there isn’t one. Owner kindly cooked our steaks for us !!!!

Lamees was a warm and wonderful hostess and the house and the view iand the design are amazing.

A lot of steps up to the accomodation but owner was happy to help carry my bags .

doors cannot be closed very well. a lit of insects came in bad wifi network no signal due to the location

Absolutely amazing setting and quirky and unuque property designed and built by the architect owner. Beautiful terrace with views of the lake and sound of birdsong

The facilities didn’t match the description on booking.com. There was no barbecue as described and no sink for washing dishes and preparing food. No restaurants nearby so we had brought steak to cook on bbq. Thankfully the host was extremely helpful and offered to cook them for us and even brought us a delicious homemade dessert.
