Hues - Castle Cary

Great central location and very clean and well equipped.

The room was fine and the en-suite was extremely large. The room was clean and comfortable.

There are two guest rooms, one on each floor. The stairs are extremely steep and narrow. It was hard work to get the luggage up to the room. We’re both in our 60’s. The steepness should be explained before booking. The shower glass screen doesn’t go all the way around so water poured out onto the floor and pooled in the corner of the room, we tried to soak it up. Also we weren’t sure what was for breakfast as nothing was labelled for guests. The breakfast room is used by the hairdressers who use the ground floor so we felt we were being intrusive and didn’t want to eat whilst being watched. The garden is very overgrown. We wouldn’t have sat out even if the weather had been nice.

We couldn’t park outside but there was a free car park available two minutes walk away. Once we had dropped the luggage off at the door it was easy. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. The location was right in the town, near all the pubs and restaurants and two great places for breakfast Some facilities to cool drinks in the downstairs kitchen fridge Perfect for a short trip to see some of Somerset

Second floor and no lift so a bit of a struggle if you have lots of luggage The most bizarre shower cubicle- impossible not to spray water about. Good water flow- but messy

Great place to stay, lovely decor, great bathroom, very comfortable

Location good for exploring town. Good communication from owner. Comfortable bed. Room was clean quiet and spacious. Good shower and bathroom.

No significant concerns, I would happily stay there again. Bit of a walk to railway station but not a big issue.
