Firefly Guesthouse

The place is really eco friendly, almost everything made of wood. You live inside the preaek svay village among the locals. The hosts Han and his wife are really awesome people and very supportive. They help you with everything including how to reach the place, booking boat,, renting a bike or traveling in the island. They have small restaurant cum kitchen available there, and provide you food at very reasonable prices. The place is really good for you if you want to stay away from people and world for a while and stay close to nature only.

I liked everything but it's important to mention that the place is too far from center, arriving here can be tricky but Han tells you all the possible options to reach the place with costs. I came on village's boat that costs 7.5$ from Sihanoukville that was actually a cargo type boat that brings items from city to village. It wasn't very comfortable though and it took 3 hours to reach the island. Plus the place is only good if you want to stay away from the world for a while and live in isolation. No wifi in the place either.

If you want it quiet on Koh Rong, this is your spot!

the property itself was lovely. on the river nice room, however I’d say it’s for people who want to be away from everything more of a retreat.

i would like to give 1 star only, so this place can forever be my hidden gem. but it deserves all the stars excisting. it´s just so beautiful, in every detail! if you want to party, go to restaurants and the access to many beaches you are definitely at the wrong place, if you want authentic village life, a beautiful view when you wake up and when you go to bed, 2 incredible beautiful beaches in an 30-40 minutes walk distance and good food, then you are at the right place

it is very far from the main village, but everyone who books it, knows this before, it´s just to let you know that a tuktuk one way to the main village costs 20 dollar and renting a scooter 10, so think about twice what you want

If you would like to get away and relax? This is the place to do it. Small, on the water, and personal service with meals that are authentic and worth every bite. Good luck on your travels.

such a cool experience this house on the water. they really made an effort to decorate it nicely and I just love the location all the way up north in this village. super friendly owner as well. it’s obviously very simple but they really used the houses full potential in my opinion. definitely recommend this place
