Yellow House Prince Albert

Meiringspoort is great!

Yellow House seems to be a bit of a scam or they don't know how to take bookings. We booked accommodation and the owner was very rude to the guests on arrival who just wanted to stay in the rooms that we had been booked and paid for long before our arrival. Guests ended up needing to share a bed and other guests needed to find alternative accommodation as she claimed there was no such booking.

Prince Albert itself is beautiful

It would have been great if the rooms that we booked and paid for actually existed. It would have also been amazing if the owner actually wanted to help her guests but it seems it's a bit too much to ask. Guests had to share beds and find alternative accommodation which was incredibly difficult. I contacted booking.com and the owner told them that no such thing happened so I suppose we imagined it. It's a pity really as we were keen on supporting local business but this one doesn't deserve it.

What a gem in the middle of the Karoo. We enjoyed every single second of our stay and were treated like family by the hosts. Petro is warm and welcoming and we are really grateful to have met her. Thank you for making our stay comfortable, providing an excellent dining experience and for allowing our dogs to have just as much fun as we did.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Good parking close to cottage. Lovely bright big comfy room. Kitchen with all you need. Plunger coffee was delicious. The most beautiful orange orchard and fruit tree orchard outside the room. A comfy stoep to sit on. A walk through the orchard leads to a plunge pool and further down two hammocks for star gazing at the amazing karoo night sky. Had a most delicious lamb shank for dinner followed by pumpkin pie and turmeric ice cream. Was very well looked after.
