Clovelly Guest House

A short walk from the centre, good view of the sea (standing by the window), good and healthy breakfast options (self-service), comfortable bed, excellent room service.

Very small room and shower room, nowhere to sit except on the bed, noisy boiler (?) also humming at night but comfortable earplugs were provided.

Everything was very clean. Plenty of cereal choice for breakfast plus yoghurts, orange juice and eggs.

Although there was parking for four cars the fourth car parking space was very tight and not easy to access if there is a large car occupying the next space. Part of the tarmac area is much too high to reverse a car over and if you don't actually see this when you arrive it is possible to burn your engine out trying to get onto it. It might be a good idea for the owners to address this problem for the future. There was no road parking available when we arrived but fortunately there is a very large public car park a few feet away which we were happy to use for our second night. One other suggestion is perhaps the socket in the bedroom could be changed to incorporate a phone charger socket which would be very useful.

L'établissement tient plus de l'auberge de jeunesse que d'un Bed and Breakfast : nous n'avons vu personne, entrée par boite à clé, et des instructions dans la chambre. Le petit déjeuner est à préparer soi même, sans oublier de faire ensuite la vaisselle! Les produits ne sont pas variés malgré les promesses sur les notes indicatives, et sont de qualité médiocre.

The owners did not come and say hello, parking is on a slope and partly needs resurfacing, hot tap in bathroom did not work.

Badkamer was veel te klein, geen zitje in kamer.

Although we never met the owner/s (staff) communication via text/Email was excellent and all information provided regarding the property/our stay was clear and thorough in detail.

Parking at the property was tight and on a slope - it is not ideal for four vehicles as advertised - if you had a large or long vehicle it would be a struggle to park.
