Very welcoming and friendly team. Took time to advise on mountain walks, restaurants. Took an interest in what we were doing with our few days holiday. Breakfast was great: someone else mentioned the porridge - and I can confirm that! Cooked breakfast was plentiful and good. Locally made preserves etc.

Room could have been larger.

Very welcoming hosts, who were happy to share their local knowledge, and a very good breakfast (try the porridge and the jams!) The B&B is on a quiet street; there's quite easy access to the main street if you're happy with steps, though it's a wee bit further if you're not.

We felt very welcome and well taken care of. The room was clean and comfortable with lots of storage. The guest house is perfectly located for exploring the area. Great breakfasts too!

The walls are on the thin side and can occasionally hear other guests.

Great hosts and breakfast. Convenient location close to pubs, restaurants and shops. 15 minutes drive away from the forest areas

The greeting and information provided was great, even advising on where to eat out. the room was very clean and tidy, the breakfast options provided were great and the hosts were attentive over breakfast

I recently stayed 6 days at the Stables Guest house, using it as a base to cycle around Galloway Forest Park and visit nearby attractions. It was a fantastic place to stay. The owners (Dane and Fay) were exceptionally helpful and friendly. My room was very comfortable and quiet. There is a lounge area with lots of useful books and maps of the local area. The breakfasts were excellent. The location is great too... a short walk to the shops and bus services. It is also a short walk to the nearby leisure centre which has a swimming pool which was an added bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Stables Guest House and look forward to visiting again

The hosts were lovely very attentive, very home from home so felt at ease as soon as we entered the property, breakfast was a definite 10 out of 10 great tea and coffee selection in the room

Bed wasn’t very comfortable unfortunately but we do both have chronic pain conditions, other than that everything else was exceptional
