Private Villa Bonobo

Great for solo travelers to meet others, nice breakfast. You could buy beers in the villa and some other soft drinks. They also have some board games. Must be fun in peak season. Staff is very friendly. Overall good vibes.

Location is a bit far, is possible to walk but with hot temperatures or in the night you need scooter or taxi if you want to go to la Punta. Didn’t really like that some of the rooms had glass door because of too much light.

Villa Bonobo Is auch a chilled place with the most amazing staff on earth. We really had a great time although the weather was not perfect. I can highly recommend this place for working, chilling, surfing or just to have interesting conversations with the amazing people who work there.

The place is a little walk to the beach and the streets are not in the best condition.

10/10 whether you want to keep to yourself or join in on activities — there’s a WhatsApp group which is handy. Myrna, Chris and the whole team were so sound and welcoming. It’s also a beautiful place. I really enjoyed it!

It’s about a 10 minute walk to La Punta which I think is absolutely fine, and even more fun on a scooter that you can rent through the hostel.

I stayed in a private room, lots of space and nice view. What makes Bonobo special is the social vibe and the staff who does their best to make us feel at home: Diego invited us to some curated local events we could not have found as tourists. It’s not a party hostel so you don’t have actual activities organized by the hotel itself but the fact that breakfast is served everyday at a fixed hour allows to meet other travelers and plan things together.

I would suggest to add a little desk/table or at least a chair to the private room upstairs as it’s so big and would be useful to get work done, as the coworking spaces can get really hot. Keep in mind that the hotel is not very close to the center of Punta or Beach and it might be hot if you want to walk so plan a little budget for taxis.

The bathroom in the shared dorm was very nice. Shared kitchen and fridge immaculate and welcoming to use. Beer fridge available at all times. Pool towels and bath towels available. Breakfast was very good. Dorm beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. This hostel felt more like sharing a home with roommates than living in a big busy hostel.

The pool didn’t seem to be crystal clear so I didn’t feel comfortable getting into it. The bathroom in the dorm room could really use a fan for ventilation. The sinks in the dorm bathroom may need some maintenance as the water was slow to go down.

Loved the staff, everyone was so helpful and the whatsapp chat to find out what's going on. The pool is a very lovely place to relax, as is the rooftop. You can buy beers from the fridge at a very reasonable 40pesos. My private room was very comfortable, quiet and had everything I need. The breakfast was excellent and changed everyday.

Only the location is a bit far out of town, but that also meant it was quiet! The walk down to la punta is quite far in the heat. It was better to get a collectivo to Zicatela instead for 15pesos - less walking and less sweaty!

Property has a nice set up and communal feel. Staff like Diego and Myrna were super helpful answering all questions, giving us great recommendations, and even helped arrange a scooter rental so we could get around. Our room had an amazing balcony and the bed and bathroom were awesome.

The AC in the communal office room is broken, so while we took meetings we had to remain in our room for meetings on camera. The office may be usable other seasons, but the temp the week we stayed was a consistent 35 degrees so this was kind of a bummer. There is also some construction going on next door. It didn't really bother us much.
