"nice enough"

7.0

really nice rooftop to relax on and big kitchen. the room was a good size and i liked having a chair and hammock on the balcony. relatively calm in the day which made it a nice place to relax.

there was construction opposite for the entire stay so it was difficult to read during the day and also i had to keep my curtains shut whenever i was in the room because the construction site looked straight into my room. they did not clean the rooftop area after hosting a barbecue until the afternoon the next day which was quite disappointing as it meant you could not sit up there and relax. the couple in the room next to me had to walk across my terrace to get into the room. it personally didn’t bother me because they were very apologetic about it but it does seem quite disruptive.

"Amazing, next time in Puerto Escondido we will choose the same place"

10.0

We spent 6 nights at the villa and everything was perfect - the villa is very chill and tranquil, stuff is super helpful, you have everything you may need both in the room and in the kitchen, pool is small but very clean. We totally recommend!

The only thing is that you need to walk around 15 mins to the beach. But if such great hotel would be closer to the ocean, the price would be*5 :). So we were not disappointed, it’s still great value for money

"An amazing stay at a beautiful, friendly, child out villa."

10.0

The property looks just as the photos, it was really clean and the staff were so lovely! It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the main bit of town which we liked because we could get our steps in and also it meant it was peaceful in the evening. The pool and communal area was lovely and the breakfast was amazing. We booked the dolphin tour through the hostel (which we highly recommend) and they saved breakfast for us for when we got back - which just shows how they go above and beyond!

"Very good"

8.0

Very chill hostel with nice social vibes. A mix of couples and solo travelers. And even though I had a private room, I got to meet some lovely people.

I had a private room with sea view, but it was mostly a view of a construction site tbh. Not the fault of villa Bonobo as whole Puerto Escondido seems to be under construction, but I probably wouldn't have paid extra for the sea view if I'd known that. And as the hostel is a bit further away from la punta, I would only recommend if you rent a scooter or don't mind paying for the taxi rides back at night. But if you're looking to just chill by the pool, then it's perfect!

"A pleasant stay overall but Casa Bonobo could do so much better"

6.0

This hotel/hostel only has about 6 rooms, two of which are dorms which makes the place very intimate and quiet. I enjoyed my stay because I wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Escondido. There is a kitchen everyone can use to cook and store food and each private room has a balcony to enjoy the sun. The breakfasts were good as were the shower pressure and the gigantic bed. I am glad I visited when I did but I probably wouldn't go back given the huge building being constructed right in front, obstructing the ocean view.

A few things I didn't enjoy: - If you are staying in room 3, the folks in room 4 have to walk across your balcony to get to their room - There is a huge building being built right in front of Casa Bonobo which meant constant noise while I was there (from 8 am to 5 pm) and which will obstruct the ocean view (I sure hope they update their photos soon) - They organize drinks and events if you are into it but they're all at an extra cost and the manager/owner was constantly pushing her side business products for people to buy, it felt very inappropriate - The breakfasts are served only between 9 am and 10 am for some reason which is quite late in my opinion. They also don't provide much food. An example would be two small pancakes, a half banana and two orange slices. Even well-presented, it's just not enough - The location worked for me but I rented a scooter for the week while I was there otherwise I would have had to walk on unpaved dirt roads (there's not sidewalk along the highway) in the sun, to reach the center in about 25/35 minutes - I found hair that wasn't mine in my room

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Bonobo is an oasis of tranquility but just a few minutes walk from the beach and restaurants of La Punta. A big thank you to all the staff.
