Ngalali Retreat

This was the best place we stayed during our entire trip. Lorenza, who takes care of the guests, made us feel genuinely welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Xander, who leads the game drives, gave us an unforgettable experience — we were lucky enough to see rhinos and lions and other animals. The game drives were amazing and successful, the food was outstanding, and the whole place is incredibly beautiful. It is also LGBT-friendly, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Staying here felt much more like visiting friends than staying at a hotel. We would happily come back and highly recommend it.

O hotel fica dentro de uma reserva privada, então somente uma cerca nos separa da vida selvagem. Vimos rinoceronte, elefante e girafa do outro lado da cerca enquanto jantávamos ou caminhávamos pela propriedade. O hotel tem uma proposta bem intimista, com poucos hóspedes, em que todos fazem as refeições juntos em uma mesma mesa, além dos safáris. A comida era muito boa, especialmente o braai na nossa última noite, foi a melhor comida que tivemos durante nossa estadia na África do Sul. A cozinheira Helen fazia tudo muito bem. O quarto era agradável e confortável. A interação com os outros hóspedes foi muito legal. Os safáris foram muito bons, conseguimos ver os Big 5 e o guia Jim realmente conhecia tudo, a reserva, o comportamento dos animais, nos passava muita confiança, mesmo estando a 10 metros dos leões e quando parávamos nos meio da savana para um café ou snacks. Inesquecível.

Não havia divisão da banheira com o quarto e molhava tudo quando tomávamos banho.

Mooie lodge en het personeel maakt het echt zeer aangenaam om hier te blijven. Ze zorgen echt super goed voor je. En Xander en Eli deden enorm hun best om wilde dieren te spotten en we hebben echt zeer lekker gegeten. Alles wordt ook met je overlegd. We voelden ons enorm welkom. We komen zeker een keer weer.

De kamer van onze kinderen vonden we iets minder comfortabel en wij konden een upgrade krijgen naar een zeer mooie kamer. Maar het verblijf maakte alles goed.

Sehr schön und ruhig, tolle Safaris! Unbedingt viele Ausflüge buchen!

Location is inside a private reserve, which is a huge advantage. We were lucky to see a lot of wildlife. The game drives were great and the guides are very knowledgeable. The food was also very delicious. Prior to arriving you will get a message with all the information and activities, which are reasonably priced.

Our room had an open toilet/shower. So keep this in mind if you are travelling with others.

Eveything was perfect! Xander and the rest of the team did everything to make the stay and safaris unforgettable. Good location, fine room, great food, fantastic safaris and lovely people. Excellent staff , all very caring The food was amazing! Bush walk and game drives were fun

The shower in the room was very open and the room quick got very wet, we also almost slipped on the steps, but this is minor compared to our amazing stay

Breakfast was excellent but the people were always late. When they supposed to come at 8:30 am they’d come at 9:30. In all though everything was perfect and splendid.

Be on time and ask if people at red meat or pork. Don’t cater pork for people who don’t eat it. Braai would also be preferred sometimes in the bush.

Nous avons passé 4 jours absolument incroyables dans cette réserve naturelle, entourés d’animaux et de paysages magnifiques. Lorenza et Xander sont des hôtes formidables : chaleureux, passionnés et attentionnés. Les game drives ont été exceptionnels, à la fois impressionnants et très enrichissants. Nous avons appris énormément grâce aux explications passionnantes de Xander. L'hébergement et la nourriture sont tout simplement exceptionnels : chaque petit-déjeuner et chaque repas étaient un véritable régal. Un séjour inoubliable que nous recommandons les yeux fermés. Merci encore pour tout !

Alles was heerlijk. De eigenaren en het personeel zijn geweldig. Het eten is heel lekker, zelfs voor een vegetarier wordt er speciaal een heerlijke maaltijd op tafel gezet. De omgeving is waanzinnig mooi. Er kwamen zelfs groepjes neushoorn bij Ngalali grazen. Gewoon fantastisch. Hier komen we in de toekomst vaker.

Het enige wat ons tegen viel was dat de toilet alleen door een houten scherm van de kamer afgeschermd staat.
