"You don't even get what you pay for."

1.0

It's reasonably easy to get to... I was driving and you can park in the drive-way outside the house as long as you have 3 pairs of arms to hold the gates back while you reverse. The internet is reasonably quick.

"Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Ciudad Jardín Las Palmas GC is set in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria... and offers a 24-hour front desk." This accommodation claims to be air conditioned. It isn't air conditioned. I asked about air conditioning. The owner had no idea why I thought it might be air conditioned. "I could bring a penguin..." he suggested. (Portable air conditioning unit? - the kind where you need to run an outlet hose through a window - the kind that make as much heat as they remove and are mostly pointless). So - not air conditioned then. But he said he would try to find a fan for me... "The holiday home features ... a microwave" The built-in microwave in the photos is no longer there. In its place is an ancient supermarket own-brand thing dragged out of a skip with all the text / images rubbed off. You can't see what it does or how it works. "the property can provide ... bed linen for an extra charge." - it had bed linen. It also had a mattress protector although that was ripped. The mattress underneath smelled very faintly of bed bugs... The wall behind the bedstead has damp, judging by all the flaking, peeling paint. The wardrobe is in a damp alcove without proper flooring, just dusty concrete. You can tell it's damp, he's put down one of those cheap, little plastic dehumidifier things full of silicon that are supposed to dry the air out - though really it needs a proper plug-in dehumidifier. As I was leaving to bring in my case I encountered 5 very well-fed members of the local wildlife (roaches) so having a lovely warm portable aircon outlet through an open window would have just invited these chaps in. Nice. That and the owner's very loud and reactive guard dog, they live upstairs, would ensure a less-than-ideal stay. I left and found somewhere else to stay. There's no VV sign outside - it is unlicensed and probably illegal.
