Vi havde valgt at bo i Vega de San Mateo, for lettere at kunne udforske det nordlige Gran Canaria, og være nærmere ved de højtbeliggende områder med mulighed for vandreture. Til dette formål var det et glimrende sted.

Det er ikke ligefrem en by, der vrimler med restauranter, men til gengæld var husets køkken overdådigt udstyret. Vi fandt dog også et par restauranter.

Nuestra estancia fue genial. Es un apartamento muevo y muy bonito con mucho gusto. Todo fue muy cómodo y contaba con todo lo necesario

Cuando estuvimos llovía mucho y una de las habitaciones siempre estaba húmeda. Por lo demás todo perfecto

Location as expected

Absolutely icy cold on arrival. Heated by two gas stoves and a small electric stove which were not turned on. One of the stoves ceased to function after an hour. No instructions for use of stoves. No instructions at all in fact. Bedrooms too cold to use, slept in living room with one functioning gas stove and small electric stove. Advertised as having washing machine and clothes dryer. What is not mentioned is that the washer dryer is in a cupboard under the outdoor steps leading up to the apartment on the patio. Also not mentioned is that the washer dryer and patio with two chairs and small table are shared by three apartments. We booked and paid for 3 nights intending to have somewhere warm and cosy to return to and wash/ dry out clothes after hikes. We left after first night and the manager’s attitude was defensive and unhelpful. She sent QR codes re washer and Wifi only after we requested this info several hours after arrival. We left this apartment with damp clothes and both developed colds next day. This property in current state is not habitable winter.
