Hearthstanes Steading

The courtyard and cottages were well laid out and in stunning surroundings. Lots of walks and wildlife close at hand. The pool room and bowling facilities were also a bonus addition.

The cottage was bigger than expected and immaculate. Ralph and Maura were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they were always on hand. The grandchildren loved the games room and we had some lovely walks. We would highly recommend the cottage and location if you want peace and quiet but still within easy access to towns. We will definitely be going back.

Can't think of anything else that we would have needed or anywhere nicer to stay.

Beautiful location. Wonderful spacious cottage Ralph and Maura were friendly and helpful. We made use of the pool table and fus ball every evening and went for a few long walks around the farm. The kids loved their stay too.

It was disappointing that the hydropool and bowling alley weren't available for use.

Very beautiful with wild life, birds, rabbits, hare and deer. Very quiet. As the weather was good the courtyard with seats was well used and an opportunity to talk to other guests. Good cafe in the village.

You had to get keys to access the lounge etc. You had to drive a long way to a pub but fine if you are self catering.

Absolutely wonderful place the views, the ambience the property itself. This is a home from home and a total get away from it all kind of place. Everything has been thought of. It's great they provide a safe place for your furbabies too. Couldn't fault a thing.

Great proper and great host. We wanted somewhere we could relax and get out for some lovely walks in the mountains. Beautiful part of the world and the accommodation was just perfect.

Everything!! Booked 2 cottages and both were totally immaculate. Well decorated. Lovely touches including Easter egg and biscuits for us. Ralph was very accommodating/ helpful the whole weekend, nothing was too much bother- thank you :-) We had a great sleep - beds and pillows very comfortable (whole party of 10 adults agreed). My husband said that "it is the best sleep that I have had whilst being away from home in a long time, if not ever" Bowling was great fun and the stags on site were beautiful to see out the window (cottage 1). River view from other house (cottage 3) also very beautiful. Kids enjoyed a walk up through farm and scenery nearby absolutely stunning. Would love to come back :-)
