The Shoe Box cottage with allocated parking

Great place. Had alm we needed. Close to everything. In a quiet street. Great having the park a little walk away. Loved the town.

Shower wasn't clean in corners. Not biggy but didn't look nice.

It was quiet and the beds were comfortable.

There was no microwave. The oven didn’t work and there was food left in the oven from previous guests. There was hardly any cutlery and very few clean mugs. The tap in the bath ran all the time and you had to stand in the bath to open the window. The smoke alarm was left on a shelf and we think it should be fixed to the ceiling.

Location was fantastic, close to everything we needed. Cottage layout was great, lovely place.

Very small quibble but no mugs or cups for a brew!

Quaint cottage, great location & ideal with a parking space.

Little bit run down, with some missing essentials. Feels like it needs a bit of a spruce up which would make a big difference. (Very limited cutlery & glasses, mugs & broken cafetière)

It was lovely everything you wanted or needed.

Carpets and sofa stained Had a wasp infestation so had to leave , contacted owners on the day and multiple times since home (over 3 weeks) with no reply Very disappointed with the service While I understand they can’t help wasps I would expect a reply

The town. Beds were quite comfortable. The house itself is quite nice.

Unfortunately, all previous complaints about cleanliness remain and are quite possibly worse. There is an overall feeling that the owner does not care about the guest's experience or safety: Main issues we noted include: Very dirty sofa with multiple large dirty patches, covered by a dirty brown tinged throw  Black mould around the window and window panes in the bathroom Dirty oven and grill pan, which  had not been cleaned  from previous visitors No mattress protectors, so bedsheets put straight on top of bare mattress Peeling paint on bedroom walls Furniture is tired and damaged. Mix of mismatched and brown tinged cutlery that was barely enough for 3 people. No tea towels or oven gloves, so resorted to using kitchen roll to dry dishes and take hot pans out of the oven Could see only one working smoke alarm. The house has 3 floors with only one front door for entry/exit as no rear garden etc. The downstairs smoke alarm had been removed and was sat on a kitchen shelf. Nothing went off when i accidentally burnt some toast.  General feeling that the place needs a good clean. Not sure how bookings are still allowed given the number of issues that are ongoing and have clearly been reported for some time. Lack of working smoke detectors needs addressing immediately. Power went off for some reason at about 9.15am on day of departure. If these ongoing issues had been addressed, the stay would have otherwise been ok as the house is quite pleasant. It's just not cleaned or looked after to a level paying guests should expect. Cannot recommend. 

We just had a fabulous stay in shoe box cottage. A great location for going out in Malmsbury. An added bonus was the parking . Also Ben and Kate kindly let us have a late checkout which we really appreciated. The cottage had everything we needed and I loved the feel of it
