The Old Crab Shop. PERFECT location & sea views.

Lots of character, ideal location, lovely space, with everything we could need

Location was excellent and there wasn't a huge list of house rules, as adults we respect someone's property

If there was one thing I would improve it would be to have more comfortable chairs on the ground floor, this is the room we spent most of the time in

Quaint and full of character and charm, located in central Cromer. A short walk to the Pier, local pubs, cafes, and shops. There were some nice touches, such as milk, tea bags and some biscuits being provided for when we arrived. We'd recommend the Red Lion (good food and an excellent range of beers), and Albion (more local pub feel, also with great beers), and Shoreline (coffees and cocktails). Fish and Chips are also very popular in Cromer! It's an easy drive out of Cromer along the coast, and about 30mins to Wroxham if you're visiting the Broads.

For parking, there are 4 spaces on the road outside, to support the properties on The Gangway. We were there for 4 nights in March and managed to get a space outside on 2 evenings, but for the other 2 we had to park on Cliff Drive, a 5 minute walk away, and it seems likely that spaces there may get limited in peak season. There are a few quirks and little things that we had to work around, but nothing major, and really just part and parcel of this being an old, compact and characterful cottage, with rooms over 3 floors - 2 kitchen areas at street level, lounge and bathroom on 1st floor, and the 2 bedrooms on top floor. (2nd bedroom is a single and small, but we did not use it.). Stairs are wooden, with wide steps.

The location, views was prefect. The house was very comfortable and had everything you could need.

Check in 4pm and check out 10am. We felt check in was too late In the day and then checking out at 10am was such a rush.

Lovely location. Quaint cottage. Nice touches like milk, tea and snacks. Dog friendly.

Nothing really.

The location is absolutely wonderful, 50 metres from the sea front, 30 yds to the town centre shops. The heating had been left on so when we got in it was so cosy, it’s surprisingly warm for an older property, but this is when houses were built properly and didn’t have paper thin walls! One thing to absolutely highlight is just how clean everywhere was. We’ve stayed in some lovely properties but they’ve been filthy, this was not the case at all with the Crab Shop, it was beautifully presented and as I say, immaculately clean.

The property is just gorgeous! It is perfectly postitioned right by the sea or the high street. We arrived in a snow storm & the property was a welcome warm and dry retreat. Decor, facilities, coziness, all the things you could need for your stay. A wonderful welcome pack of essentials & treats. The kitchen in the ‘front room’ is brand new and very lovely. We liaised with one of the owners (James)a couple of times & he was very attentive. Only teeny-tiny thing - there wasn’t a bedside lamp in the child’s room - but no biggy as there are two in the main bedroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. (2x adults, 1x 10yo). We have recommended to many friends & we also hope to return! February stay blew away the cobwebs and the winter blues!

We had an amazing stay at The Old Crab Shop and hope to stay again soon. The location is perfect for quick access to the beach, which is at the end of the road. It's also right on the edge of town so it's easy to get to the shops too. The house itself had everything we needed for a short break (3 nights) for our family (2 adults, 1 child and our dog). It's cosy, thoughtfully kitted out and beautifully decorated with a brand new kitchen/diner area, as well as a back kitchen part.

It was no issue for us, but you need to be quite able to stay here as the house is set over three floors with a winding staircase top to bottom.
