"A comfortable, clean and cosy cottage in a lovely village."

9.0

The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The garden was fully enclosed which was great for our dog. Huge comfy sofas in a lovely cosy sitting room. The cottage retained some original features alongside modern tasteful decor. The shower was great and it was great to have an en suite as well as a main bathroom. The nearby Ashenbank woods were great for walking our dog.

The stairs are very steep and spiral which was fine for us but might not suit everyone.

"Good location but disappointing quality of stay"

5.0

We thought this was expensive for a one-night stay (ÂŁ283). The accommodation felt pretty basic especially in the bedrooms. I have never rented a cottage where the bed linen wasn't ironed. I felt like I was sleeping in student digs with un-ironed pillow cases and duvet covers. The cottage was pretty chilly and therefore unwelcoming. We asked the owner to top up the heating as there were messages not to touch the controls. We got a brief boost but it was freezing overnight. The main bedroom had a paper-thin duvet so we had to supplement this with the spare one from the kids' bunk bed. There were no additional blankets supplied. There were no logs for the woodburner either. The tea, coffee and sugar canisters looked manky and half full and so we didn't want to use them. The shower in the main bathroom leaked from the taps and we couldn't get both of the shower-heads in the en-suite to work. All in all, a disappointing stay.

"Comfortable & well equipped cottage."

7.0

Well equipped and warm cottage in a small Kentish village. Had everything we needed. Some road noise but generally quiet overnight.

There was a couple of issues with cleanliness but the host rectified it.
