Luxury Travel Emporium YO1 - Exquisite 400 Year Old, City Centre Townhouse

I loved the history, the decor, it was absolutely beautiful and spacious, the beds were incredibly comfy, best matresses out of anywhere I've stayed. A mancave that had everything you need and 4 spacious toilets. The property was great value for money and only a 10 minute walk from anything you want to see.

By no fault of there own the roadworks opposite woke us up quite a bit they start work around 6am and all you can hear is talking and drilling, the windows are very thin but that's expected in a 400 year old property the rooms at the back of the property were silent. The heating is a bit janky and the WiFi isn't the best.

Nice location, very close to city centre. Well equipped. Generous sized rooms.

Some areas of the house could do with a little renovation. Appreciate the windows can't be updated due to the age of the property, but it does mean there is a lot of noise from the pub opposite.

Location in York was good

Description wasn’t exactly as we found it. The cinema room wasn’t easily accessible with steep steps which although no-one has any mobility issues, wasn’t pleasant. The WiFi didn’t work The heating wasn’t on when we arrived and we didn’t have any instructions on how it worked and when we used boost it didn’t work enough to heat one of the bedrooms. The access to two bedrooms in the eaves isn’t easy if you’re tall. Location of sockets and mirrors and bathrooms made it a much less enjoyable stay than it looked online. Unable to get anyone to answer the phone number given but were able to communicate via email which was delayed due to no WiFi. When we left we outlined a number of things the owner could address to improve the stay

Location, spaciousness, decor.

We were hosting a group of friends from around the country for my husband’s 60th birthday. The plan was on arrival for everyone to start the weekend off with champagne to toast the birthday. There was one glass champagne flute and two plastic ones which looked as though they had been left behind by previous guests. Not good enough for a property which advertises itself as luxury accommodation.

Lovely and warm and clean with hot water. Beautiful place.

No internet, no tv due to internet Ceiling falling down on stairs, plaster damp and on stair carpet and also ceiling damp in Bathroom .

Very spacious, well equipped and well placed in town. Beds were comfortable. Loved the bath but didn't get round to using it. Shower was good.

Got a little chilly late night/early morning

Beautiful old house. Decorated fabulously.

So cold. No heating for the 2 days/nights we were there.contact with company constantly for 2 days. No help. We had to all be in the kitchen most of the time to keep warm. 6 of our company freezing in bedrooms with no heating. 10 of us had to use the 2 downstairs bathrooms, as too cold on top floor. Bedroom windows rattled.told to look for boiler and given link for instructions to sort out pressure! Unfortunately boiler was in a locked cupboard. Really bad communication. Sofa bed in the cellar with very steep unsafe stairs.

Great house in a great location. Wish we had longer as we feel we didn’t use this house to its full potential but we loved it and it was perfect for our group.
