Really hard pillows in the bed. No TV in the bedroom.

Great location, dog friendly with an enclosed area which enabled us to let the dogs out to do their stuff without having to take them straight out in lead

30 steps up to cottage

The host has provided everything I needed including parking vouchers. It was clean, warm and comfortable.

The access for cars is limited so it’s drop the case and drive away situation as double yellow lines on the street access. I knew this was the situation when I booked so the owner kindly provided a parking voucher which is absolutely essential and parking is reserved for residents only.

The actual (small) apartment was mostly fine, decor and furnishings wise. Bathroom was clean. Lounge was clean and comfortable.

Cleanliness: very poor in some areas e.g. bedroom bedside cabinets and lights. (see pictures) Far too dark in the bedroom. Kitchen hob really poor state of cleanliness, (see pictures) lack of regular cleaning and around the hob - sticky. Windows dirty and smeared. Waste disposal: NO outside bins at all. Told to leave all rubbish in the kitchen bin, including recyclable items. Access to property: Whilst there is a photo on the website of the steps up to the property, they are only a section of the steps and the passage they are in. Very poor worn condition, dirty , with weeds growing everywhere. Because of the unusual entrance (a long walk up a passage and 31 steps , (NO WHERE WAS IT MENTIONED ON THE WEBSITE ABOUT THE NUMBER AND CONDITION OF THOSE STEPS) especially with luggage, this is all behind the red entrance door ) and we had to pass other properties of varying cleanliness and condition, with bags of rubbish led about and maintenance/painting needing doing just to finally get to our booked apartment. Not a pleasant experience each time we went out/came in. A lot of attention is needed to bring that area up to an acceptable standard for visitors. Welcoming is what visitors want not shudders. Stairs very narrow with tiny risers near the bottom - THIS SHOULD BE POINTED OUT ON THE WEBSITE. NO CONSIDERATON FOR THOSE LESS ABLE. There is no parking at the property but that isn't a deal breaker as the host leaves passes to park up on Westcliff, a short walk away. Overall we certainly would not go again.
