Nancy's Nook

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Nancy's Nook over the weekend. The house was beautiful and clean, with some lovely touches, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, etc, and toiletries in the bathroom. Before we arrived we received an email with lots of helpful ideas on what to do whilst in Whitby, a brilliant touch. We were also given direct contact details of the owners, had we encountered any issues. Location was a 10 minute walk into town, just right, and lovely and quiet.

One thing that we would possibly think to improve. A bathroom mirror above the basin for those who wet shave (me).

Very clean and comfortable. The online guide was really useful. Easy access to Whitby, only a short walk away.

The stairs are very steep. The bathroom is on the top floor and parking is very difficult. The house is high above Whitby therefore you need to be quite mobile and fit to cope with the location.

The property was exactly as described. Beds were comfortable and had what you needed for a short stay.

Parking was very very limited and is based on a steep hill. This was manageable however I do not believe this was explained in the description. Would have been useful to know as my husband is disabled and we may have considered this before renting. However I could not have faulted the property itself

Kitchen didn't have an oven tray so we got one and left it for future guests.

Smart modern decor with quirky layout. Near to the centre of Whitby. Lovely view of Whitby Abbey from second floor bedroom window. Comfortable beds and sofas.

The refrigerator is just that - there is no freezer compartment or icebox so nowhere to store frozen food. Parking is extremely challenging. There is nothing that the hosts can do about this as it is a terraced property surrounded by steep and very narrow streets. As there are no exterior photos of the property we would advise looking at the area on google maps before booking especially if any party members are less mobile and be prepared to have to park some distance away. Only toilet in the property is up 2 flights of stairs which wasn't a particular problem for us but would be difficult for anyone with mobility problems.

The house was spotlessly clean and set in a quiet location. Communication from the host was excellent.
