Dove House Cottages - No 2

The cottage was stunning and in a great middle location to drive to towns and cities around it.

Lovely property in a quiet location. Some nice little touches such providing fresh milk for the tea and coffee. Everything was really nice.

The TV didn't appear to be connected.

The pub that did serve food had a very limited, unappealing menu. The floor of the wet room got soaked after a shower so you needed to time it so you didnt want to go in there for a while afterwards

Lovely setup, beautiful cottages located in a reasonable area with fair surroundings.

Lack of control of the heating, you have to contact whoever's in charge to adjust which isn't ideal for some. You are only allowed in the property from 3PM, and have to be checked out by 10AM. This is the first place I have stayed at over the years with such short periods of rental time. I can appreciate people need to come in and clean and prepare for the next guests, and that takes time. But 90% of properties I have stayed at only ask you to leave at 11/12Noon which gives you time to get up and get sorted. I can appreciate the renters giving gestures such as washing machine tablets, bin bags etc, but the quality off the products provided out weights the cost of the rental. Various bits of the cottage still needs work, such as things not finished throught the decor, thinks not working within the cottage correctly. It seems it needs a bit of TLC inside to make this property worth the cost. Could not enter the garden at the rear due to the back door lock not working. Not exactly fire safe in case of an emergency and needing to escape the property promptly. Possibly a little over priced compared to better, much more reasonably priced cottages I have stayed at prior. I think the owners would have a much bigger turnover of people staying over had the price be more adequate.

Fully equipped kitchen is very useful. Very dog friendly and easy to excercise a dog in the grounds. Short walk to the local pub and easy parking👍

Can’t really find anything to fault

The pictures do not do this cottage justice (even though the pictures are very good!). The property is very clean, beautifully done out, very cosy & comfortable. Lovely comfortable bed, with a very airy feel to upstairs. The immediate surroundings are breathtaking & the church is a stunning view. We loved the church ringing out the change of hour too.

The only tiny downfall is the wet room floor not drying out very quickly, but if we go again we’ll take flip flops. I wouldn’t change the bathroom, it’s a great concept.

Very good location, property was clean and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay.
