"Everything was fine but not outstanding, third visit to Fishertown but probably wouldn’t opt to come back to this proper"

8.0

Location Good communication with owner

Steep staircase. Minimal supplies/ no ā€˜welcome pack’ or extras that we usually find at properties at this price, such as toiletries, bathmat, milk, snacks. Seemed small for more than a couple- especially if dining at home.

"lovely stay in a charming cottage near the beach."

9.0

The cottage was really cozy and full-comfort: well equipped kitchen, washing machine & dryer, small but comfortable bathing room and large bedroom. Free parking is very nearby and there is a car-charing station nearby too. All facilities (shops, pubs, grocery) are at walking distance. The owners keep you well informed on how to get there, where you can park, how to get to the key and where to spend a nice evening. The cottage was clean and dog-friendly.

"A clean, cosy and peaceful cottage in a great location, with easy self check-in, though parking was a little tricky and"

10.0

stayed at Seaforth Cottage in Nairn with a work colleague while attending a friend’s funeral locally. Given the circumstances, it was really important to have somewhere quiet, comfortable and easy to settle into, and the cottage was exactly that. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very cosy and had everything we needed for the stay. The beds were comfortable and the living space was a great place to relax in the evening. The location is also excellent, with the harbour, beach and town centre all within easy reach. Access to the cottage was very straightforward thanks to the lock box outside the property, which made collecting the keys really easy and meant we could arrive without worrying about timing or meeting anyone in person. The only reason I marked the staff rating slightly lower is simply because we didn’t actually meet anyone during the stay. Everything was handled remotely and worked perfectly, but it meant we didn’t have any direct interaction with the hosts. Overall it was a lovely, peaceful place to stay and we really appreciated having such a comfortable space during what was a difficult time.

The only small downsides were around parking and a couple of basics. Parking can be a bit tricky as it’s down a narrow back lane, which might be difficult for larger vehicles, although we managed fine once we got used to it. Also, we couldn’t find any toilet roll in the cottage, which was a bit inconvenient when we first arrived.
