The lovely local pub down the road! Unfortunately, the cottage isn't as described and the photos are so old and not a true representation of the state of the property now.

I'm going to use bullet points as there is so much not right with this property. Front step is rotten and wobbly and the laminate flooring is peeling and moves. Residual dirt is everywhere. Dirty floor edges, windowsills with dust and dead flies. Kitchen cupboard doors and floor felt sticky/greasy. Rusty grab handle/aid in the bathroom, yes it was removed after complaining but the rusty bracket remained. Pull cord for shower is black. Vinyl flooring worn away and grim around toilet at the floor. Ensuite bathroom smelt damp and had a huge damp patch near the not working and full of dust extraction fan. Grouting was yellow. Towels were filthy, as was the tea towel. Smoke alarm in the twin room was slightly hanging off the ceiling. Slats on the footboard of the beds were broken, as was the bunk bed ladder (was fixed after complaining). Unfortunately when we complained to booking.com they were very disinterested and told us to speak with the property owner/manager. Alfie told us to leave if we weren't happy. This was 10pm at night. He didn't care about where we would go. He later texted that he would try and get us a partial refund from the owner and then we could leave. We had nowhere else to go, and without an immediate refund, no money. I suggested that we would stay until Sunday with a smaller refund but the manager stated that he didn't want us to stay there if we weren't satisfied. No refund was forthcoming and therefore we stayed as we had activities booked that we would lose money on. Don't get me wrong, the cottage is quite big but not a 3 bedroom, you have to walk through bunk bed room to get to double. If the owners spent a little bit of money properly cleaning and refurbishing the property it would be lovely. The bar/restaurant isn't open as advertised either which means that if you need something you have to wait or call the manager.

Could have been cleaner .. carpets dirty and cobwebs everywhere. No freezer. Place was a little dateted in places. Especially for the price.

The cottage was in a lovely location.

The cottage needed repairs and care. The ironing board cover was very dirty. The washing machine was rusty and exceptionally loud. The furniture in the main bedroom needed fixing. All the drawer knobs came off when you tried to use them. A fridge drawer was broken. A window pane was broken. Old tatty furniture outside.

Terrible reception from bar manager.Told us bluntly that we couldn't stay as our dog was too big.Shes a gentle crossbreed shepherd.Upset we asked for a refund and he refused saying it was too late we should have read the t and c's.We asked him to prove the cottages only allowed miniature dogs under 15 pounds and he couldn't point it out only the hotel states this so he reluctantly relented.He said next time remember she's not allowed and took £36 cash from us with no receipt,it took six days to get the £50 deposit back. I advised him to make it very clear to others what his policy was to avoid others being put in our situation. Sky wasn't working properly it was intermittent,DVD player not connected and no WiFi,so take a book.

Lovely cottage (much nicer than the photos) it was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. There is a bar and restaurant attached and another lovely restaurant a short walk away. Also dog friendly which was great.
