West Street Retreat Grade II listed townhouse

Great location, very quiet (especially at night) and within easy walking distance of the town centre, beach and some good pubs (particularly the Alma which has amazing food). The house is very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Kitchen is well equipped and the wifi speed was good. No parking provided but we managed to park right outside for the duration of our stay (free on street parking).

A few areas could use some minor attention e.g. paintwork in kitchen, and garden which was overgrown in areas. It was also the only place I have ever stayed that did not provide a hairdryer which made drying long hair tricky, particularly given only one towel per person was provided.

I like it a close location to train station, park and sea. The house is well equipped. The owner quickly answers you questions.

There is no curtain in the bathroom to protect you from neighbours during night.

Clean, comfortable, good location.

Little touches missing, such as cleaning cloths to wipe the kitchen tops.

Nice house near the port we did enjoy ours weekend away with the dogs.Lovely pub around the area.

Good location, near to the train station and the centre of Harwich. Parking was a bit hit and miss but I know the area and it is quite difficult to park in general. For the first night we had to park a short way away from the property but on the second night we were able to park right outside of the property. The property is over 3 floors with 2 steep sets of stairs and no bathroom on the top floor where the bedrooms are. This was no problem for us but maybe for people with limited mobility. Lots of crockery and pots/pans in the kitchen. Tea, coffee, sugar, condiments provided. The property feels very much like home from home. There is lots of space which feels very welcoming and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. Good communication from Georgia the host.

Would be great to have a small bottle of milk in the fridge as we arrived late and had to find somewhere still open to get some milk. Cleaning products in the cupboard were nearly empty and no dishwasher/washing machine detergent. A few little things like replacing loose/worn out taps in the bathroom and areas of paintwork touching up would make the property feel more appealing. However, this would not put us off in the future, but would make the stay feel nicer.

Perfect location and very comfortable. Lots of nice touches in each room.

No shampoo in bathroom but we left some for the next visitor. Everything else was fantastic.

The stairs are steep
